Alzheimer's Association and CDC Release New HBI Road Map
A business recruiting executive with more than two decades of professional experience, Scott Robarge oversees recruiting firm Another8, which he founded in 2010. Beyond his professional activities, Scott Robarge supports the Alzheimer's Association. In addition to providing health and support for people with dementia, the Alzheimer's Association is the country's leading advocate for Alzheimer's disease, a condition that affects more than five million Americans. In its efforts to ensure that public health officials recognize and address Alzheimer's disease as a public health crisis, the Alzheimer's Association recently partnered with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to release the third edition of the Healthy Brain Initiative (HBI) Road Map. To focus its services specifically on Alzheimer's, the HBI Road Map features a 25-item action agenda that public health leaders can use to reduce the burden of Alzheimer's and its impact on communities. The action agenda is adaptable to meet the needs of different communities, and each action is based on established public health strategies to ensure that public health officials nationwide can easily integrate the action agenda items into existing initiatives. The publication also provides real-world examples of the ways states and communities are working to improve dementia outcomes. More information about the third edition of the HBI Road Map is available at alz.org.
