Just a reimagining of after Yamato was captured. If kakashi and others had gone to find him during the war. Bro was used like a battery and I wish he had been rescued🥲 so I drew this to help my delusions.

tenzo lifts the decorative flaps lining the enterance of ichiraku, and ducks in with kakashi in tow. he settles onto a stool, releasing his grip on kakashis hand. kakashis grip tightens. tenzo gives him a quizzicle look.

"you need that hand to eat."

"im ambidextrous."

"your not that ambidextrous."

"its fine."

ayame pops over to them. tenzo relays their order. he smiles politely as she nods and moving off to help the woman at the other end of the bar. the two of them sit in silence, watching teuchi go through the motions.

"if i let go... id have to work up the courage to take ur hand again..."

tenzos brows raise slightly before his face settles into a soft smile.

"i can take your hand again when we leave." tenzo offers.

their bowls are placed down in front of them. kakashi quickly drops tenzos hand and snaps a pair of chopsticks apart.

"oh thank god."

tenzo watches the anxiety drain from kakashis face. he grins, snapping apart his own chopticks, and digs in.

It’s 3am. I wouldn’t stop till it was done. I usually don’t post political esc art but after this past evening and the inauguration I am left with nothing else to turn to.
