The WashPost editorial board was ready to endorse Harris, then its billionaire owner, who has business in front of the federal government and has been a frequent target of Trump's vitriol, pulled the plug on it. Trump's intimidation of the press works—and he hasn't even won yet.

3 components of worldbuilding:
1. The author’s kinks
2. The author’s power fantasy
3. The author’s political agenda
Plot and logic optional
4. The author's formative trauma(s), unrecognized until after they hit post and then reread it for typos, only to blink in shock and say, "Oh. Oh. Oh fuck."
5. The author's personal grievances with other works in the same genre. (May relate to #3 but not always)
6. The author's favourite bit of historical, cultural or scientific trivia or other academic obsession that they only stop talking about to eat and maybe breathe in if they can't get circular breathing down
THE MUMMY 1999 — dir. Stephen Sommers
I, for one, am completely convinced by Trump's disavowal of Project 2025, and am certain he will hire dedicated professionals to manage the many sophisticated and complicated programs run through the federal government (i.e., air traffic control, drug testing, etc.). I mean, would he lie?
It's going to be really interesting to see how quickly and credulously the Times, the Post, CNN, and the rest of the MSM news outlets run with this like it's a real thing, and not transparently false.
The Fascists know that America hates Project 2025. They know that Project 2025 is antithetical to everything America has represented for at least a century. It was just a matter of time before they attempted to rebrand it or deny it entirely.
It's a real thing. It is their plan. They are attempting to run away from it because they know how voters are repulsed by it. It's going to be interesting to see how quickly the big papers and cable outlets who absolutely know better buy into the new framing.
To be clear: every Republican on the ballot this year supports Project 2025, no matter what they claim. A vote for any of them is a vote for a fascist theocracy.
i cant believe they drop this bomb then just move on
I thought it would be an hour of listening to screaming and looking at pictures of draculas, but it was so much for frightening than fathomed

"chekhovs cat / schrödingers razor / occams gun"
Chekov's Cat: if you see a cat in the first act, it will probably be relevant later. (example: Alien)
Shrodinger's razor: an unopened box may or may not contain the solution to the story; there's no way to know without opening it. (example: Monk)
Occam's gun: the simplest way to kill off a character is to shoot them. (example: Bambi)
i have been cracking up at this for the past 3 minutes
Chekov's Box: If there is a container introduced in the opening act, it will be opened later.
Schrodinger's Gun: Treat every gun as if it's loaded unless you've checked it yourself.
Occam's Cat: If you hear strange noises at night, it's probably a cat.
Occam’s Cat: If you

probably a cat.
Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
