They're so cute I'm going to be sick.
Polaris be like :
« Good lord woman, I can’t deal with your yearning anymore. Here, take your girlfriend! »
(Been replaying Control before Resonant comes out and the Fondation DLC is just… on another level huh)
Resonant Predictions/Wants (spoilers maybe)
things i want to happen in Resonant:
jesse and dylan hug. please remedy just once.
confirmed jesse/emily
more emily. more emily.
arish and dylan becoming at the very least friendly
langston shenanigans
zoe calling out the bureau for what they did to dylan/dylan trusting zoe
former content??? perhapeth????
death to the board
mention of trench/his VA in memoriam
PHYSICAL COPIES PLS REMEDY
let dylan have vulnerable/emotional moments, ESPECIALLY with jesse!!!
One of the reasons I ship Jesse and Emily so much is Jesse goes into The Oldest House with her guard up, very cautious, ready to be combative with the Bureau. First person she talks to outside of Ahti is Emily, the personification of this agency that took her brother and has had her on the run ever since. In her internal monologue, she plays at holding back, not sharing a lot with her. But in the end, she always ends up being honest with Emily. It wouldn't be special if she did that with everyone, but all the other people she meets she keeps at arms length, remaining friendly enough but still kinda standoffish. It's clear she doesn't trust anyone like she trusts Emily, a trust that only gets stronger as the game goes on.
I think part of it is Emily immediately suggesting Jesse try to cleanse one of the people possessed by the Hiss, because it's an immediate signal that Emily actually cares about people's wellbeing and is looking for any way she can help. It's just beautiful how immediate their connection is and that it's built on trust that doesn't waver. They're partners and they're in this together.
just a little foundation dlc compilation called "director faden being really soft for her head of research" 😌
Something is different about Emily, and it isn't the obvious.
Really look at her. Ignore the hair and the earring for now (though those are also big changes, they aren't the important part.) Why does her jacket look like that?
It's a standing collar, with an asymmetrical closure and a very square silhouette, even what looks like padding in the shoulders. It immediately made me think of millitary gear, and some very quick googling pulled up fencing style jackets that look almost identical, though Emily's is even more structured than these.
Emily doesn't look anything like an office worker anymore. The structure of her white shirt was very sharp and way fancier than anything her colleagues wore, but it was still recognisably office wear. Now, she looks like military leader, and the slicked back hair and cicular brooch like a badge or medal don't help matters.
This is a huge indication to me that the culture of the Oldest House has changed massively, and even personalities as sunny and excitable as Emily have been ground down by the constant fighting and neverending lockdown. She's the head of science, but unlike Darling's freindly and approachble lab coats and sweater vests, Emily has started dressing like someone whose orders are not to be questioned.
Really, the earring is actually the only sign that Emily is still keeping at least a little bit of whimsy in her life and self expression, but apart from that she is dressing like a completely different person - probably because she is. She's changed significantly from the character we saw in the last game, and I suspect the same is true for all of the returning cast.
...... and suddenly it all starts to make sense.
Before the bullshit starts again if I see any motherfucker blaming Jesse for the lockdown failing and Manhattan getting sent into mayhem, it's gonna be ON. SIGHT.
This whole situation is because two men (Trench and Darling) fucked around and then fuck off as everyone else found out. I think those two are very compelling characters and I know Darling is a fan favorite of many but those two are nowhere near to being saints. Their hands are full of blood and they are the main culprits of the current state of the FBC.
The Control fandom loves to blorbify Dr. Darling and I hope Control Resonant doesn't hold back on the fucked up things he did, both in general and to Dylan
The Control Resonant Story trailer may have lit my brain on fire, but the Paranatural Manhattan Trailer set off a nuke.
My beloved beautiful baby girl Emily seems like she'll be taking a really big role in the sequel and I am BESIDE myself with joy! She's narrating her own trailer! She's Acting Co-Director! She's carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders and terrified about what happened to Jesse! I am LIVING. I am also dying! September 24th is so far away!
there is nothing straight or platonic about the way Emily says "Jesse" in the Paranatural Manhattan trailer btw
don't you fucking do this to me
Remedy I need them to be reunited NOW
the fact that I went from so afraid Emily wasn't going to be in Resonant at all to getting a trailer narrated by her in less than a week is giving me whiplash
The way Emily says "Jesse" with such fondness and sounds so worried about her in the Paranatural Manhattan trailer, I can only hope they're together now.
