SEBASTIAN VETTEL Canadian Grand Prix 2010
Nobody will ever take Seb's "shortest time before first career fine" record away and I love that for him
Y'know, one of the things I like about Tumblr compared to other social media sites is that old content is still in circulation. Which means that however much AI generated content is out there, at least I can glance at a post's timestamp and conclude that the cute cat video from 2017 is unlikely to be fake
technically it's only queerbait if it's leveraged for publicity. otherwise it's just sparkling "your ship didn't happen get over it"
girls will be like hear me out and it's just sebastian vettel naming every single f1 world champion in order. like girl, that is NOT a hear me out, that is actually the hottest man alive
Carrie Fisher, Laura Dern, Elizabeth Taylor, and Anjelica Huston at a party at Carrieās house, circa 1990ā²s.
Sebastian Vettel 007
TIL Ian Fleming (author of the James Bond series) also wrote Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang.
This is a fact that delights me. One can see clear shared beliefs about what cars ought to be able to do across Fleming's works.
Another delightful fact for those just discovering this one: Gert Frƶbe, immortalized as the titular Bond villain of Goldfinger (1964) is also Baron Bomburst, exclaiming, with an indelible mix of petulance and camp menace, "I vant that caaar!" in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968.)
Not OTP nor NOTP but a magical third thing: Iām indifferent to your ship but your fanart fucking slaps

ohhh Sebi doing the hair tuck
i love when men tuck their invisible hair when they're flustered hehe
OKAY THEY MADE SOMETHING
THIS IS SOOOOO VETTEL REDBULL ERA CODED, I LOVE IT
my main take aways from ted kravitzās new book F1 Insider: Notes from the Pit Lane are that the two things ted loves most is waxing lyrical about sebās talent and genius on the race track but also rage-baiting the ever living fuck out of him
It was during 2008 that I really got to know Sebastian, usually by messing around with him at our Thursday catch-ups in the paddock. Before the win at Monza put him on everyone's radar there wasn't that much media interest in him, so often it would just be me and one German-speaking TV crew. Once they'd finished, Seb and I were left to exchange stupid jokes or discuss bits of news going on with other teams. He was still young, so Iād sometimes play tricks on him, such as asking his thoughts on FIA president Max Mosley, at that point very much in the news. Seb looked at me uncertainly, āErm...ā then at the camera, then towards Toro Rosso press officer Fabiana Valenti who wasn't helping him out, then back to me again: āYou can't ask me that, you bastard!ā
~~~~~~
Vettel, 2017: āI'm a big believer that things happen for a reason.ā
Forgetting for a second that we weren't two friends down the pub, I replied, āSure, Seb, but you know the saying about everything happening for a reason? Sometimes that reason is that you're stupid and make bad decisions.ā
Vettel raised an eyebrow, turned and wandered off to his next media engagement.
I wondered if I'd perhaps given him something to think about, although most probably he just thought I was a prat.
currently reading Ted Kravitzās book F1 Insider: Notes from the Pit Lane and about two-thirds of the way through was getting a bit confused and upset at why he wasnāt really mentioning seb at all, even when detailing his championship winning years.
only to turn a page and be greeted by Chapter 16, simply titled āSebastianā and entirely dedicated to his career and social justice projects. it is wonderfully sweet
