Endgame Deleted Scene
maxinesilver :
“You’re more than welcome,” Max replied to the little girl, a wide smile on her lips, surprised to hear her finally speak. It wasn’t that long ago that Max herself was a nervous little girl, shy and afraid to speak to anyone. Now, the only difference being that she was a nervous adult with a penchant for rambling instead of silence. Taking another mouthful of ice cream, Max nodded her head in reply to the male, enjoying the combination of flavours as they melted on her tongue. “You’re right, vanilla and chocolate are superior. It’s been a while since I went back to basics, I’d forgotten how good they are!”
Sebastian watched Morgan as she spoke before diving into the ice cream, genuinely happy that the girl was talking to the strangers. It was all down to these baby steps, these little things. They were an improvement, and it was more than the man could ever ask. So, he took a bite out of his own ice cream, allowing a moment to enjoy it before he focused back on the woman in front of him again. “See? And people argue with me when I say it’s always down to those two flavors. They’re the superior forms of ice cream, and everyone should just accept that.”
So maybe she’d had way too many drinks and maybe her tolerance wasn’t what it used to be, that clearly hadn’t stopped her. Making her way through she stumbled and found herself setting into the seat at someone else’s table. “Sorry,” She drunkenly slurred. “This chair really wanted to be friends I guess.” She said looking around the table she found herself accidentally sitting at. “Are those curly fries?” She asked pointing at the plate.
“Better the chair than the floor.” Sebastian spoke up as he looked over at the familiar girl. Morgan was with Kara for the day, and what did he end up doing? Just sitting around, eating at random joints. It was pathetic, really, and made him feel ridiculously old. At Isabelle’s question, he pushed the plate towards her. “Indeed they are.” He nodded, observing the girl closely. “Have you just been going through the tables, or am I the lucky one?”
corarcand :
“You’re ancient.” Coralie barked a laugh before she could stop herself, burying it in a smile shortly after. The pair both seemed young, if not necessarily in a physical sense. They were fun, the right amount of playful. “Sounds like a wise decision.” She agreed, letting her previous comment slip away, hopefully not to be pondered on too deeply. She stepped back from the counter, “After you. You’ve thought so hard about this, I’ll follow your lead.”
“See the grey hair? Therefore, ancient.” Sebastian played along, pointing at his stubble and his hair before grinning again, much to Morgan’s amusement. Now that she had Morgan by his side, people found him hilarious, in a way- before, he was just the weird old man. As the woman stepped back, he smiled, again. “Well, aren’t you the kindest. Thank you.” He bowed the slightest, still playing along, before moving over to the counter with Morgan to get the order done.
“and i am iron man…”
Thank you, for everything.
vivaanpatel :
“There are stranger things than comparing a person with a building, and certainly more concerning behaviour.” he answered evenly. “Besides, the professional care given out these days has evolved a great deal from a cell with padded walls.” It was a shame the profession had once thought that was the best solution.
“Yes, that’s correct.” he nodded, “I would rather not have people come and see me because I have a history, but rather because they know they need some help.” he replied. “I have been in practice for over a hundred years by this point, specialising in mental blocks and trauma suffered by, or adjacent to, elements of the supernatural.” he explained.
“Concerning? I find it just coming up with more creative comparisons.” Sebastian mused with a small, cheeky smirk. He never felt right around doctors. Not just because the experience wasn’t ever positive- he just felt like he had to act differently. He had to act normal. Pretend to be like the masses. “Perhaps. Or maybe it’s just become a little more closed off.”
His grin disappeared, eventually, as he thought it all through. It would be just perfect to bring Morgan in for this- only, how could he break it down for her. “Well, what ages do you treat?” He paused then, again, thinking it through. “Do you take children on, too? Like- five year olds?” He never lacked words, yet, now, he could barely form a sentence.
rosabellemoretti :
Rosabelle found herself laughing a bit, just like the girl sitting down next to the man. “Fair enough point. Though is there a reason you’re only offering her the most basic of flavors? I can attest that they have a pretty great butter pecan ice cream here. It’s always excellent with some whipped cream and crushed nuts on top.” she grinned. “Though, i’m partial to mint chocolate chip myself, and they sadly don’t carry that here.”
“Why, of course there’s a reason.” Sebastian nodded along as Morgan continued to eat the ice cream, enjoying each bit of it. “She’s got to start with the most basic flavors, to work her way up, to build the palette correctly. Otherwise, it comes a mess, and she’ll like that cheap ice cream that’s neither ice nor cream.” He mused. “What a choice. To exquisite to be carried here.”
stefanreyes :
Stefan smiled back at the man, he was glad to finally see him again although it was his own fault that he hadn’t seen him sooner. But then again, after his sister had died, Stefan hadn’t had the energy to be keeping in touch with people except for the few he was close to. Grief had overwhelmed him and he had handled it badly. But it wasn’t a lie how people said time will heal all. Maybe he wasn’t completely healed but he hoped he was getting there. He had taken the advice which many of his friends had given him and that was to ask for help when he needed it – and that was exactly why he had come to meet Sebastian. He was going to ask a fellow witch who had the power to resurrect the dead to help him bring his sister back. He was sure this wasn’t what people meant when they said ask for help, but his mind was made up. The only thing he had to do now was to convince the man. “I am sorry, I just –” he began to say, an attempt at explanation for why he never came by much, but he didn’t really have an acceptable reason and so he merely shrugged his shoulders. “I am here now.” he pointed out, a smile on his lips. “To make up for lost time. How have you been?”
Sebastian stood back straight, waving dismissively as the other apologized. Truthfully, he couldn’t care less about something so silly. All in all, he was simply glad that Stefan seemed alive and well, even if something clearly seemed to be off. Otherwise, he would have stayed in touch with Sebastian, surely. The two weren’t extremely close, but they were close, and the man liked to keep tabs on the other. “I’m going to sound about as cliche as I could, but too much happened for me to tell it all to you here and now.” It was still weird, how quickly everything had changed for Sebastian. One day, he was messing around, drinking as much as he pleased, and making one bad mistake after the other. But then, come one night, and he was a father of a traumatized five year old, who still messed around, and made one bad choice after another. “Come, let’s go upstairs. Put the sign to closed.” He motioned at the door, frowning a little at the realization that the sign was already up. “Huh. Makes sense why I had no customers today. Should just start unlocking the door.”
liamhxrris :
Liam put up his hands in defense. He couldn’t really tell the man what to do or how to do things when he never had as the business of his own. Though if someone had asked him, he would have liked to have invested more into Sebs shop. Put up more things, experimented with his own magic. After all, his powers promised a lot, and he was able to do the things that pothers only dreamed off. But Seb never asked, and Liam wasn’t the kind of man to suggest it. Not unless it was necessary. Plus, he enjoyed his job as a firefighter, gave him a good workout and the feeling of doing something good for the town. “Nah, don’t stress about it. You’re still doing fine. And two guys? Seems like you’re floating with your head above the water.” He grinned right back.
“What? I don’t know. You may trust their things? What’s that? My sister used to watch some kind of things on the telly, where they forge things. Who knows, this could be the thing? Can you really tell? Maybe do a magic spell instead. Something that you trust.” Liam knew he was pushing for things. Finding ways to justify that there was some kind of lie there, that the man before him didn’t need to invest all that time. At probably it was wrong, maybe he was supposed to play some kind of role there. But what was it? How did he fit into all of that?
“My parents always taught me to share, but it was you who really enforced it in mine. Don’t back off from your teachings right now.” He said, taking the glass from the man. “Ah. And this is your problem now why?” Even Liam could hear the bitterness in his voice. That probably wasn’t the best reaction, but he didn’t feel; like Seb was talking anymore. “Amnd now you’ve got a kid.” He sighed, pouring all of the liquid down his throat.
“Floating with my head above the water? Well, excuse me. I’m so far below the water at this point, I can’t see the light.” Sebastian spoke, sarcastically. It had always been easy with Liam- they always got along well, even if the man did not approve of everything the other did. Liam always reminded Sebastian of himself back in the day, back when he wasn’t completely ruined, or broken apart. And he had faith in the other that it would never happen to him, and, in the long run he would get for the best. The wild days were always bound to end.
“My sister’s a werewolf. I’m sure your sister is all kinds of fascinating, and you just have to listen to her about the things she watches on TV, but Kara can smell things better than I do. I swear, I’ve seen werewolves smell stress.” It still baffled me, how others were capable of things as great as those. It wasn’t something he would ever be capable of, but, in the long run, he could only but hope that Morgan would be capable of the same. Then again, it always came with a price- a price, he was far too scared to think of right now. Sebastian paused, then, as the other suggested a spell. “No can do.” he barely motioned at his head. He was healing, but the headaches were still proving it difficult for him to concentrate. “Momma wolf left another nice surprise, and now I can’t focus that well.”
“I taught you to share when it benefited you. Not be a saint.” Sebastian grinned, cheekily, taking a sip of the drink. It burned down his throat, and it was damned delicious. He paused, however, at the other’s question, and looked over at Liam, raising a brow. What was it, really? Was he upset? Was he angry? Then again, what for? “I’ve got a kid, yes. Can’t just leave her.”
vivaanpatel :
“It is. Though as much as the buildings had some work done I can promise you I’m not nearly so new.” He’d been doing this for over a century now and thought himself to be fairly capable at helping others to more fully help themselves.
“I’ve only been in the Town for two weeks so I’m not surprised there.” he rose to his feet, utterly relaxed, and extended a hand to the other, “My name is Vivaan, but people just tend to call me Vaan. I’ve recently moved from Porvoo to open a clinic here.” he paused and then added, “I take it you have some reason for coming inside rather than just asking if this a clinic?”
“Well, if I were to compare you to the state of the building, I might as well just sign up to a room with comfortable walls, don’t you think?” Sebastian mused as he continued to look around the place. He really didn’t care, but he was simply stalling before he would have to deal with the actual situation.
“As in, Finland? Cause advertising that might just improve your clientele, and bring in more people.” He spoke again, finally focusing back on the man. He knew he had to talk about the actual reason he was here. “Indeed I do, Vaan. But why don’t you tell me who and what you exactly deal with? It’s a rather... complicated subject.”
corarcand :
Coralie pursed her lips, but chose not to comment. He was obviously very passionate about food choices, and had taken on the daunting task of imparting his wisdom onto his daughter. And…it’s not as though she knew any better. Ice cream wasn’t even a thing, back when it might have meant something to her. Certainly not like this, certainly not to just anyone. “I agree, very wise indeed.” She looked to the girl, smile soft. “Your dad seems to know his stuff, he won’t lead you astray.”
“Of course I know my stuff. I’m ancient, I know all the secrets of this world.” Sebastian played along, puffing out his chest dramatically only to end up grinning when Morgan smiled. He was fifty, even if he didn’t act his age- but, at times, he sure felt like it. His back hurt for no reason, his joints were getting stiff in the morning. He might have been a witch, but that didn’t stop him from aging like a regular human. “Come on, then, we’re all getting ice cream. The wise old man spoke.”
mildlysanex :
Addie only kept on smiling, even with the other girl’s features seemed to have saddened suddenly. “Mmm…It’s like having a favourite animal, or a favourite toy.” She grinned once more, trying to put her at ease. There was nothing to worry about, Addie already genuinely liked to be her friend, even if she didn’t have a favourite name. They could surely work on that later on. “If you don’t have a favourite name, do you have a favourite animal?” She was curious about the girl; she was curious about a lot of things, hence why she always asked questions, about anything and everything.
His lips curled at the ends just slightly, as the man spoke; his own palm rubbing the back of his neck anxiously, his compliment making him uneasy, and well uneasy was an understatement. He was self-conscious when it came to his ways of raising his daughter; from where he was standing, he imagined he should’ve been way better than he actually was. “She is. She is-..the light in my life, really. I’d be in the dark without her.” He explained softly the truth, his full attention now devoted to Sebastian. She was a handful at times, yet without her his life would be dull and meaningless, deprived of any sunshine and positivity. “Of course I have the time to help. It’s tough, It’s really, really rough, and I know that it could get really hectic, so please - let me help, as much as I can.” He offered him a genuine smile. “Does she have a room of her own?” He asked, and then quickly turned his head around to focus upon the two girls who had just arrived back, moving slightly to allow them space in the booth. “You’re a funny guy, Sebastian.” Addie giggled, as she pulled out a small bag of gummy bears from her tiny, blue backpack, “If I didn’t get you ice cream, I would give you gummy bears. Friends share.” She grinned at the man, as she grabbed a handful of the candy and placed some on her icecream and then some on Sebastian’s scoop, before turning to face Morgan, “Do you want some?”
“Everyone has a favorite toy?” Morgan asked, genuinely surprised. Did kids really have that many toys, that they would have a favorite? It was beyond her. She was used to playing with the other kids in the pack, and sharing a couple toys between all of them. But even then, the older kids would get very possessive, and refuse to share anything with her. “Well-” She furrowed her brows, then, as she thought it all through. Did she have a favorite animal? Suddenly, the look on her face brightened up. “I like wolves!” Morgan smiled, finally, even if her smile was still small. But it was an improvement. “Do you have a favorite animal?” She asked after a pause, a little cautiously.
Sebastian could see the anxiousness on the man’s face, and it didn’t take a werewolf to figure something like that out. He was used to it, however, even if he took pleasure in pushing the man to his limit- after all, how else could he get Benjamin to open up just a little bit more? “There. A terrible father would not say that. You give yourself too little credit, and that’s coming from a man who gives himself too much credit.” Sebastian argued, making a face at Benji’s question. His store was still a mess. His apartment was in a mess, too, and he simply had no energy in him to actually arrange anything. “Not yet, no. Doesn’t look like she could sleep on her own yet.” He added, focusing back on the girls once they were back. His eyes widened when Addie pulled out a bag of gummy bears, and he leaned forward, watching the girl curiously. “Friends also overshare, just so you know.” He nodded along, a playful grin finally appearing on his face. He had to play this up- it seemed to make Morgan smile more often than not. At times, he could even get a giggle out of her. “You can keep on loading my ice cream with the bear- they’ll freeze, and we’ll get polar bears.” He explained, pretending to be serious, as Morgan shook her head, still a little overwhelmed. She wanted the gummy bears, but could she really have them? It didn’t seem fair.
itskarasykes :
She supposed he made a valid point, though certainly the hospital in the supernatural safe haven would ask a few less questions than your average run-of-the-mill type, but that didn’t much matter at this point. Sebastian was her brother, she just needed to know he was going to be okay. Where were healing powers when you needed them? Not that they would be any use to Kara as she was now, but…still. It was the thought that counted?
Mother dearest visited. Kara’s eyes strayed over towards the child who had finally taken a seat on the couch, seemingly attempting to watch television, though Kara couldn’t be certain whether or not her ears were keen on the conversation between the siblings. Did she even know what was going on, or was she as confused as Kara on the whole situation? “She’s yours?” Kara finally whispered, the pieces slowly clicking into place. She’d noticed the similarities without really noticing them, but now it was making more sense. The dark hair, those familiar eyes…She was family.
And this was all her fault. “Purebred,” Kara repeated carefully, swallowing hard. “Oh.” So whoever the child’s mother was, she’d thought Sebastian was a werewolf as well, like Kara. Like her, apparently. But not like Sebastian. And if it wasn’t for Kara having been bitten, having been a werewolf and having Sebastian here for her – none of this would have happened to him.
Her eyes shifted briefly to her brother, then to the floor, then back towards the little girl once more, at a bit of a loss for words. What was he going to do? What was the right thing to do? Obviously they couldn’t just leave the girl, and she deserved a loving family. Kara had no doubts in her mind that Sebastian would be a good father - but was he ready to take on a kid that looked to already be five or so years old? Kara had been around Aurora now for years, she’d babysat when shew as younger - she could certainly help, if that was his plan.
“I’m sorry, Seb - I uh…I’ll help however I can…”
“Seems like it.” Sebastian mumbled at Kara’s question, looking back over at the little girl, who seemed to be maybe a little too worried to focus on the TV. He struggled to keep the focus himself, yet, still, with a little more energy, he started to flick through the TV channels, making the little girl gasp, before he eventually ended up on some children's’ channel- he had no idea something like that even existed. And perhaps Sebastian should have focused his energy on getting himself some kind of remedy, yet, oddly enough, he was far too worried about the girl to focus on himself. That had to be a first.
“You can tell that, can’t you? With the scent.” He spoke, focusing back on his sister, his head starting to hurt once more. He wasn’t really familiar with all of the skills she had, even if he had made a point of learning it. Perhaps, right now, it was simply too difficult to figure it out. “I’ll need to bring her to- somewhere- to confirm, but, I mean-” He barely moved his hand in the girl’s direction. She looked almost too alike to Sebastian, even at her young age, for it not to be obvious.
And it didn’t take supernatural abilities to see the guilt on Kara’s face, even in the state Sebastian was in. “Kara-” He stopped her, keeping his focus on her. “Before you start, don’t you dare blame yourself.” He paused, then, allowing himself a moment to pull himself together. “I’ll need all the help, I’m no father- but I don’t need guilt or pity.” He nudged her, then, with his leg, lightly. “And you gotta promise on that.”
