@fakelawyerbug was talking about motorcycle enthusiast celine and mira embroidering her a jacket and i. may have gone temporarily insane

the design elements all refer back to the film:

the clouds appear as a motif on the clothes of various hunters we see in the opening montage (including celine herself and rumi), and the chrysanthemum is just,,, everywhere (including celine's garden lol) so i knew i had to include it. i gave it sunrise colors as a nod to the sunlight sisters in particular!

since this was supposed to be part of the post-film reconciliation between celine and the girls, i knew i wanted something to refer back to rumi and also to mira--and mira would never leave zoey out! so the cross design is taken from the knot of rumi's norigae, the swirl is styled after mira's golden outfit hairpieces, and the lotus flower is from zoey's how it's done outfit

Andrew’s hand on the back of his neck pushes down, and Neil goes easily, tipping his head forward and bending down so Andrew can get a good look at his hair.

Bright, vibrant orange. Too bright to really be comfortable, but Neil is learning to stand out in the crowd. He’s going to have to get used to it some time or other.

Orange. Fox orange, the color of his home and his family. Only a few shades and yet miles from his father’s auburn.

Andrew studies it for a long moment, and Neil lets him look his fill.

Finally, his grip loosens. “Obsessive.”

@carlandrea and i have been discussing how jo fits into the roleswap au i've been messing with, and i ended up doing some quick sketches to try to explain this version of three and jo's dynamic

(while the master doesn't work for unit, they are surveilling this alien who's set up shop in england--or, well, they were attempting to, up until jo went and made friends with him. the brigadier now has a load-bearing nepo baby)
