Been a bit crazy the last few weeks so I apologize for lack of updates. Here's the final battle theme of Valkyrie Profile 2, an amazing and dramatic piece by the prolific Motoi Sakuraba.

Been a bit crazy the last few weeks so I apologize for lack of updates. Here's the final battle theme of Valkyrie Profile 2, an amazing and dramatic piece by the prolific Motoi Sakuraba.
Today's track is "Fighting in the Street" from the original Streets of Rage. This soundtrack was composed by Yuzo Koshiro.
Wow, got a lot of hits on the Dewprism track from earlier, glad there are people out that like that game :) Here's the remixed dungeon track "A Submarine Remains" from the PS2 remake of Tales of Destiny. Why we never got this version or Tales of Destiny 2 (the real one, not Eternia) makes me sad.
"The Traveler" from the title screen to the classic PC game Crusader: No Remorse. There is a longer and slightly rearranged version of the same track used in the sequel game Crusader: No Regret, but either way it's indicative of some of the best PC game music of the 90s... at least in my opinion. Andrew Sega (aka necros), one of my few heroes as a composer, wrote this track. Check out the updated PSP version if you like this one.
This one is "Ruins of Moondoria" from Ys I&II Chronicles (the PSP version of the game). Out of the rearrangements Yukihiro Jindo did for this game, this one is probably my favorite, though it's not traditionally one of the favored tracks from this game's legacy.
On Disc 6 of the Final Fantasy XI OST Premium Box is a collection of several tracks from the game that were never put out with any of the main game or expansion OSTs. This track is "A Road OnceTravelled" from Wings of the Goddess cutscenes... I believe the original intent of this track was for Fort Ghelsba (Shadowreign) in WotG but they obviously didn't include the area in the final release. Like most of the expansion tracks, this was composed by Naoshi Mizuta.
From Square-Enix's first celebratory chiptune arrange album SQ Chips, this is the boss battle theme from Final Fantasy III. This track redeems the game for me (it's probably my least favorite for a variety of reasons), and is one of the best chiptune tracks I've ever heard. Hope you like it, too. The original track was of course composed by Nobuo Uematsu and this arrangement was done by the talented Hige Driver.
After the bombastic opening, this is a great OST for those insomniacs out there trying to get some needed shut eye :3 — not to mention it’s one of the most well crafted and subtle SNES soundtracks ever made.
Since this is the first time I've posted a Star Fox track, I decided why not head to the beginning. I loved the opening stage music to the original SNES game, and was always a little underwhelmed by the Star Fox 64 versions (both of them), but hey whatever works for fans! This soundtrack was composed by Hajime Hirasawa.
Let's call this a "Surprise! Retro Night" kind of day and here is the title theme of Golgo 13: Top Secret Episode for the NES. I was the only of my friends to manage to finish this game without cheating, and holy crap was it hard. I was a bit of a masochist back then, I think. Or I just really hated losing. I still hum this theme to this day and almost forgot where it came from; this game's soundtrack was composed by Michiharu Hasuya.
Another Yoko Shimomura <3 track from Legend of Mana, this is the boss battle theme "Irwin on Reflection" at the end of the Faerie War arc. This is one of my all-time favorite games, despite its odd gameplay mechanics. There are only a handful of RPGs I've replayed more.
"Paltina 1490" from Yggdra Union: We'll Never Fight Alone. I adore this game more than I thought I would, since I am really picky about strategy games. This soundtrack was composed by Shigeki Hayashi and Minako Adachi. It's too bad we never got the sequels to this game.
Running late today so here is "The Rival" from MagnaCarta II. I own this game but still haven't had a chance to play it yet... rethinking that choice. The soundtrack was composed by Sung-Woon Jang and Roh Hyoung Woo.
From Lunar: Silver Star Harmony comes one of the new tracks composed for the prologue sequence "Battle of Light and Shadow". I personally found the changes made to the gameplay in the PSP version a bit of a step back and couldn't bring myself to finish the title, but I loved the PS1 version of the game. I'm probably the only Lunar fan that likes Silver Star more than Eternal Blue, even if SS is remade a hundred times more often.
Since I'm on one of those moods, tonight is the final battle theme from Final Fantasy XIII-2, titled "Unseen Abyss" (or "Invisible Depths", depending on who translated it). This battle can be a real pain if you're underpowered like I was the first time I fought it... but if it were a bit better balanced I think it might be one of the best final RPG bosses in recent memory.
The boss battle theme "Plosive Attack" from Parasite Eve. What an original game this was.. it's too bad The Third Birthday was such a letdown. The soundtrack was composed by my favorite composer, Yoko Shimomura.
"Pass Through the Forest", a forest dungeon theme that was also used in the demo disc of Dewprism (or Threads of Fate if you prefer). Really like this track, and parts of it remind me of Final Fantasy IX for some reason. This track was composed by Junya Nakano.
