I really love the movie posters! What is your process for making them?

Hahhaha sorry for my fangirl moment🙈 to answer your question, I think my process can vary a lot depending on the episode. First and foremost, I choose the color for every episode beforehand so I can make sure I don’t end up with posters that have super similar colors one after another and I just pick them based on vibes honestly hahahaha. Also, I was dead set on making the whole series in a monochrome color scheme, with a simple art style you know, clean lines and kind of blocky shapes, really inspired by classic horror movie posters, like The Creature from the Black Lagoon or Psycho, and even old book covers like Frankenstein.
Now, for the actual poster, sometimes I have to grab my trusty DVDs and rewatch the episode to get some inspo. I’ll usually try to sketch something based on the title or something that really captures the vibe of the plot
BUUUTTT like I said, it totally depends on the episode. Like this new one, “Party Guessed” I just knewww I wanted to make something 20s-inspired and focus on the wolf’s bane drink hahaha. So I swatched my color palette and was done in less than two hours! [bellow some pics of the sketches]
BUT for something like “Frenemy" MY GOD, I was STUUUCK FOR WEEKS. I watched the episode like three times and just concluded the plot was all over the place, got mad, and quit for a week. Then when I finally decided on doing Jackson in the police van, I just couldn’t get the right angle or placement for the title uggghhhh it was awfuuuulll I ended up with like 8 different versions of the poster!!
So yeah, that’s basically it! I also make a bunch of Pinterest boards to visualize the vibes or specific shapes of things, and I use my fav modeling app to pose my characters how I need them oohhh and I mostly use clip studio and sketchbook pro as my drawing sw
