First off, thank you all so much for continuing to support me through my absence. Life has been a roller-coaster these past months and I truly appreciate it! This project was actually a commission from a while back, so I'm happy to finally release it. I do intend on releasing another commission and my March CC project by the end of the year.

helpful sites for writers
i have a little collection of websites i tend to use for coming up with ideas, naming people or places, keeping clear visuals or logistics, writing basics about places i've never been to, and so on. i tend to do a lot of research, but sometimes you just need quick references, right? so i thought i'd share some of them!
Behind the Name; good for name meanings but also just random name ideas, regardless of meanings.
Fantasy Name Generator; this link goes to the town name generator, which i use most, but there are lots of silly/fun/good inspo generators on there!
Age Calculator; for remembering how old characters are in Y month in Z year. i use this constantly.
Height Comparison; i love this for the height visuals; does character A come up to character B's shoulder? are they a head taller? what does that look like, height-wise? the chart feature is great!
Child Development Guide; what can a (neurotypical, average) 5-year-old do at that age? this is a super handy quickguide for that, with the obviously huge caveat that children develop at different paces and this is not comprehensive or accurate for every child ever. i like it as a starting point, though!
Weather Spark; good for average temperatures and weather checking!
Green's Dictionary of Slang; good for looking up "would x say this?" or "what does this phrase mean in this context?" i love the timeline because it shows when the phrase was historically in use. this is english only, though; i dig a little harder for resources like this in other languages.
lumine: i just want to hear those three little words
childe: i love you
lumine: try again
childe: [sighs]
childe: i will behave

happy lunar new year!!
instead of dark mode, there should be a pink mode option
Weird question but... have you ever thought about lumine seeing venti in his form? 😳 I think it would be a little awkward 😂👁👁
Hi Anon! Not sure if you’re referring to Venti’s elemental spirit form, or his archon form, but I’ll write for both!!
Two Other Forms | Venti x Lumine HCs
Lumine isn’t aware of what Venti’s other forms look like until long after they proclaim their love. She doesn’t press him about it, as his appearance is a sensitive topic.
But one day, curiousity overcomes her, and she asks what he looked like before becoming a bard. What did archons wear? Was it the same as his statue?
He would chuckle nervously, whispering that he’ll show her when they’re alone for the evening. Although nothing about this was inappropriate, his teasing tone and warm breath against her ear sent goosebumps down her spine. She wasn’t sure what to expect, but her heart fluttered in anticipation.
Upon retiring for the night, Lumine would smile awkwardly, expectantly waiting for him to change his form.
Top 25 Ways to Write an Awesome Book
Millions of words have been strung together on the subject of how to write an awesome book. A book is always going to be a tremendous undertaking that can feel more than a little complicated sometimes. But what if we could simplify the process to just twenty-five ingredients?
Here’s my post on The Top 25 Ways to Blow a Book. I decided that it wouldn’t be fair if I just the negatives.
(Note: keep in mind that this is just my opinion and this is not meant to offend anyone.)
1. Hook readers with a strong first chapter that doesn’t waste time.
2. Create a sympathetic and/or entertaining character.
3. Give the character a strong goal.
4. Obstruct the character’s goal with equally strong opposition.
5. Create a theme that arises from the character’s inner conflict.
6. Craft a strong plot with proper structure.
7. Do your research and get your facts straight.
8. Expunge unnecessary scenes, settings, and characters.
9. Balance action and character with properly structured scene/sequel pairings.
10. Write realistic, entertaining dialogue.
11. Maintain a consistent POV.
12. Create original and entertaining voices for narrating characters.
13. Tighten descriptions with more strong verbs and nouns and fewer modifiers.
14. Show more than you tell.
15. Dig deep for original ideas and turns of phrase.
16. Properly foreshadow your climax—without giving away any big reveals.
17. Build realistic and engaging settings.
18. Add only meaningful subplots.
19. When you build tension—always fulfill it.
20. Create a dynamic arc of growth for your character.
21. Add interesting minor characters who can power the plot forward.
22. Choose the right tone to enhance your plot and theme.
23. Rock readers with a climax that fulfills all their desires for the story.
24. Don’t tie off all the loose ends in your story’s ending.
25. Proofread, proofread, proofread.
Tell me your opinion: What do you think is the top ingredient in figuring out how to write an awesome book?
