okay WHAT
i'm gonna be so for real. i never got to finish the 90's rayearth anime before because my and my friends' VHS collection did not have all the episodes. i just kinda filled in the blanks with the manga, which was more accessible. so this is my first time seeing the anime ending and i'm not happy about it

It must become a crime to mistreat animals in those ways, and when malfeasances occurs, the onus of responsibility for those crimes must fall upon wealthy shoulders. That, also, requires legislation. It requires regulations, and regulators.

okay i'm back on my rayearth rewatch and i can't believe how i. completely forgot how much they changed the second season. like i remembered nova but i completely forgot how they added a whole-ass new main villain that wasn't in the manga and changed the pillar selection process to just being a macguffin
sometimes when i'm trying to sleep i'll think about how i really need to get off my ass and make the eftw reboot happen
i wanted to do a youtube series because videos are ~what the kids are all into~ but man i. just find no joy in it. but i've been focusing more on gamedev lately, and my first attempt at the youtube videos was to make a bunch of vn style assets..... so i already have sprites and backgrounds drawn for a vn of the first season...............
it wouldn't have branching paths or anything but it might be fun to make some conversations and battles interactive

Not to be a bitch but sometimes people engage with fiction in the most boring way possible, and nowhere is this clearer than in videogames. Like what you mean you hate a character just because they were kind of abrasive when speaking to the player character? "They were mean to me" and it didn't occur to you to wonder why? Like, what might their attitude toward you reveal about the world? About the social dynamics within it? About their own perspectives and backgrounds and personalities? Does it even occur you to ask? Would you only have liked them if they bowed to your presence and talked about how great you are? Like I'm sorry but you're so boring. How boring fiction would be if it cathered to you

So like, all homeless people deserve homes and help. But also, when I hear the gross "they should get a job!" (If they could, they would) or the "they're homeless because of their own choices!" (not how that works), I think about how one article I once read said the average age for homelessness is 11 years old. Or how a few shelters say the average age is 9 years old. I don't know how accurate that data is, but imagine being fucking 9 and homeless cuz of your parents or family and when you try to get help you're told you're homeless because of your own actions.
Regardless of what the true average age of the homeless is, they all deserve shelter. They all deserve food. They all deserve medicine. None of these things should be kept from anyone, let alone the most vulnerable.
