i'm actually a big fan of nurse to sjs, especially if Edmonton retains and also sends a pick/prospect with him. he'd lowkey be a top 4 dman for the sharks immediately and his contract wouldn't be impossible for the sharks to move in two years once his nmc is up, especially if Edmonton ends up retaining more.
the problem with the sharks trying to upgrade the blue line this year is that there straight up aren't a lot of great options. they'd have to pay someone like raddysh something like 10 mil aav just to get his term to around 4 years. why not get something out of it from Edmonton by taking nurse off their hands for cheaper and roughly the same term while they wait for their young guys to hit?
veteran presence, etc etc and he's not even a terrible player. he's not the star ed is paying him to be, but if the sharks could get him for the price he's actually worth it's a great deal. raddysh in particular could easily end up in the same position as nurse (breakout year, huge contract, regression & anger).
what would Edmonton want in return? probably a prospect for their bottom 6 on a cheap elc, but that might be too heavy a price for sjs. idk.
maybe i'm biased bc i just want to see the oilers finally win next year but genuinely in my mind this feels like a great idea for each.
