˚˖𓍢ִ໋✧˚.⋆ Josie pre-squidnapping in the streets of Baldurs Gate
A little Tav-lore below the cut ✨
Daugther to a wizard and an artificer, little Josie got her hands on a should-not-have-been-within-a-toddlers-reach artefact that imbued her with arcane magic.
One can imagine that having a child go through their terrible two's (and three's, and fours) that can also randomly set furniture alight or turn you into a cat is rather unfortunate. The couple sought out help from the society of brillance, sadly sussur flowers don't thrive outside of the Underdark. But hey, they made friends along the way…
Even with guidance from well-studied adults to try and hone her wild abilities Josie was a rather anxious child with it. She'd rather not cast at all, especially indoors. She found refuge in alchemy instead, nurturing this skill as she grew up in the gate.
In her early adulthood Josie was very much charmed by a bard. One thing led to another, soon enough she was engaged and leaving everything she had known all her life behind in favour of moving to the area around Waterdeep. It was rather risky, but it would be good for his career! Three years passed without actual marriage, Josie remaining ever so patient…
Big mistake, as her betrothed was discovered to share more than just his art with the rest of the world. With him for once at loss for words trying to explain the situation with the mistress, Josie was not concerned about fire-safety. Some hairs were scorched. She was going back home. Back to the Gate, immediately.
Heartbroken, Josie had to rebuild what she had left behind. She moved back in with her parents. Not many of her old friends stayed put in the Gate. Making the bustling city feel rather lonely. She busied herself running errands for her parents and working part-time for the Bonecloaks.
She hadn't been back in the city for half a year when chaos found her again. Josie was supposed to go to the market, fetch mum some things she had forgotten for supper. Then the Nautiloid came.
