Being autistic is the worst sometimes because tell me why whenever I show enthusiasm for something people will tell me to “calm down” or “relax”— I am calm??? I’m just showing excitement. Christ.
btw it's so fucking stupid you can be anxious physically in your body even after you've decided mentally you don't care. I'm supposed to be in charge here
trying to argue literally any theory about the girls in spring awakening based on the canon but frank wedekind was a fucking man so the most evidence you get is half of a line in act 0 scene 3.14159
So, we all know the "I Want" song type – but what about the "I Wanted" song? A song where a character bitterly reflects on their former dreams, and they chastise themself for having been naive enough to believe they'd come true?
For instance:
I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables
Legally Blonde from Legally Blonde
Breathe from In the Heights
No Good Deed from Wicked
Pretty Funny from Dogfight
There's a Fine, Fine Line from Avenue Q
Flowers from Hadestown
What do y'all think?
EDIT: Just noticed that these are all sung by female characters. Anyone got any examples for a male character?
closing night sucks so bad. like. this exact cast doing this exact show at this specific time in our lives will never happen again.
sorry boss can't come in today i was on my way to work and then a gentle spring breeze kissed my cheek and reminded me it is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in this broken world
ugh they’re called alice and alfred because their beginning is the same but their ending is different </3
No rabbit can begin to know the state I’m in
Alfred would’ve died this spring the pollen is so BAD
Obsessing over the musical Alice by Heart lately and analyzing the characters. The Mad Tea Party is a heart breaking scene as it is, but today it hit me that even though Alfred, as the White Rabbit, tells Alice that FINE he's going to be the March Hare for this! And sure, it's to keep the plot moving, but there are several points during the show where we see the (sometimes literal) bleed between realities have the real world counterparts affecting their Wonderland counterparts, and at the trial the residents outright complain to the queen about how Alice has been ruining the story. And in Do You Think We Think You're Alice? they even snap at her for thinking they only exist when she decides vist. The characters are just as real as their human counterparts.
And Hatter and Dormouse even seem to acknowledge that Rabbit isn't actually the same as Hare because he opens up the Tea Party scene telling them "Did you hear what she did to poor Mary Anne?" / "Oh, poor Mary Anne!" which of couse Hare would know nothing about, this is just Rabbit taking over for a moment from wanting to vent about his scene being screwed up and the other two are fascinated to hear. We see Harold take over when Hatter grows very serious in giving her a bit of a reality check before all three turn outright antagonistic towards Alice in Sick to Death. She's not just screwing up scenes, she may be having an affect on the characters themselves. The tea trio have always been a bit rude and blunt with Alice across versions, but these three all agree to completely drop the narrative and tell Alice they don't want to be in this version of the story. THIS Alice is dangerous and there are questions about why she came to Wonderland and not just letting Alfred go, but letting them all go when they've determined they don't want to be in her head anymore.
But why should Hatter and Dormouse be so angry when technically they're only just meeting her? Possibly because not only are they aware, but something vital has changed in their story whether she intended or not. .... What happened to the the March Hare that the other two seem more than open to letting Rabbit fill in? Harold may be leaking through but it's possible his ties to Hatter has the duo still trying to make sense of what happened.
"I had a really good buddy and he was drop dead funny. Then one day he just... dropped dead. Isn't that funny?"
And the universe said you are not separate from every other thing. And the universe said you are the universe tasting itself, talking to itself, reading its own code. And the universe said I love you because you are love.
Don’t let them know he loved her best ,

You know I know the phrase “oh I’ll never listen to this song the same again after hearing it in this movie/tv show” is thrown around a lot but after seeing John Proctor Is The Villain I am genuinely never ever going to listen to “Green Light” by Lorde the same way again.
Kinda crazy how one day the pain is so bad you genuinely want a hysterectomy on the spot and then the next day pain is gone and ur left alone to figure out wtf just happened
Rewatching Alice By Heart for the 100th time and still crying over Alfred
