- i’ve followed this theatre group for a while and this was the debut of one of their new members IN THE LEAD ROLE and oh my god he was fantastic. i think his performance as evan could be defined as hammy but i think he truly pulled off the excessive twitching and stimming to a tremendous degree. mark evan “jazzhands” hansen you have returned to me
- just a note about those mannerisms ooomigosh he had this habit of fiddling with the hem of his shirt but also using his cast-arm to pinch at his neckline and he had to straighten out his arm so that it looked like he was about to elbow someone to protect himself and idk i thought it was such a good touch like he’s not JUST trying to hide he’s also trying to defend himself!!!!!!! EVAN!!!!!!
- OH MY GODDDD THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT NOTE WAIT okay to set the scene i went with my bsf (user @thegreatestchai oh my goat) and my dad. we were sitting in the second row from the front (this also meant that a number of times the spotlights shone directly on me and my buddy during the show 😋😍😳). during sincerely me u get to the wonderful lines “our friendship goes beyond / your average kind of bond / but not because we’re gay / no, not because we’re gay” WHEREUPON as i’m CLUTCHING my Bro’s hand for dear life i swear to god evan and connor stared directly into our eyes with the light on us. - the outfits they had zoe in were so aww awww aww also she had this one striped top that sort of paralleled evan’s and ☹️🥹🥹☹️☹️☹️MY BABY. she had all these flourishes when she sang and i adored it fuhhh
- i almost cried like 3 separate times during act one and again during act two but so big so small was where i finally broke oh my god it hits so much harder hearing it performed live. it blew me tf away. the actress playing heidi sounded exactly like rachel bay jones and she put her EVERYTHING into that song and i made sure to tell her after the show because wow nothing has hit me as hard as that since seeing kindergarten boyfriend live
- cynthia murphy cried the perfect amount and looked like ella purnell in the role of lucy maclean. no notes.
- at the end of disappear you’ve got alana and jared and evan all singing together and shit. and jared was holding a connor murphy pin and was just waving it out at the crowd trying to get someone to take it but no one did and omfg i should have raised my hands fuckkk i wanted it so bad 😭😭😭😭
- NONBINARY ACTOR PLAYING CONNOR #WOKEWIN they had this awesome painted denim jacket and like a much more unique/bold connor fit which i always love… the personality… i get so gay off that connorquila.
- jared had a superdry hoodie at one point which lowk made me want to laugh but that’s besides the point. jared was so good so fucking funny omg literally every scene with him BANGED and tbh…. this show made me like him a lot more than i normally do.. 👀👀 also he felt a lot more homosexual than normal like he was truly into larping with evan and writing the emails. he was feeling himself. 😅🤫🤫 i like it.
- THE LIGHTING OH I GO FERAL FOR THIS SHIT it was so amazing the lighting director was putting his pussy into that like truly chowed down every single moment. clutch. all of it. BEAUTIFUL
- i felt the gayest i’ve probably ever felt when they referenced star trek i forgot that that was in there and oh my god did i start tweaking in my seat. MY hikaru sulu? in DEH? more likely than you’d probably think.
- alana was so fucking talented holy and i ran up to her while she was talking to her friends and basically just squealed “YOU WERE SO GOOD. YOUR SKIN IS SO CLEAR. THE SHOW WAS FANTASTIC.” in a rush. just amazing. she treated her part with such love and care like i love alana so much already but this performance fostered a lot of new adoration for her in me 🥹
- ok one of the only flop moments in the show was during to break in a glove where larry started singing. but the orchestra missed their cue. and started playing after he had gotten to like the 3rd line so there was just some straight awkward silence for a bit there… coo coo coo…
- overall the show was just so touching and had such a dedicated cast. oh my god. it truly made me clock again how much dear evan hansen means to me. it tore memories out of my brain that i hadn’t pictured in years. unreal and all my love to the wonderful people who poured themselves into making it so beautiful ☹️❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
