THE SEA WANTS TO TAKE ME , AND I’M WILLING TO DROWN .
THE SEA WANTS TO TAKE ME , AND I’M WILLING TO DROWN .
4, 21, 25 for the country meme !
let me talk about ireland ! / accepting always .
four . favourite dish specific for your country?
ooooh that would either be irish stew or bacon and cabbage ! the american corned beef and cabbage was the irish immigrants’ equivalent back in the 1800s so people can probably get an idea for what bacon and cabbage is like but our stew … look ok you can’t replicate our stew you just can’t
twenty one . if you could send two things from your country into space, what would they be ?
simple , dustin the turkey and every dubliner who calls anyone who’s not from dublin a culchie
twenty five . would you like to come from another place , be born in another country ?
much as i complain , i really wouldn’t ? we have our problems like every other country but i love this shitty little island . we’re trying our best ok and we’re really beginning to come into our own socially and politically and idk i’m like a proud mom ok

let me talk about ireland ! / accepting always .
six . most hated song in your native language ?
look ok i am an avid fan of irish music and i love the vast majority of irish songs , but peigín leitir móir has a special place in hell for me . mostly because when we were taught the tin whistle in school , it was the song we were supposed to aim to play , and i just … hate it . so much .
eleven . most enjoyable swear word in your native language ?
english is the dominant language in ireland ~ for some strange reason ~ so the curse words we’d mostly use are similar to the common english curse words . feck is sometimes used in place of fuck , bc it’s not as harsh as fuck , and eejit and gobshite are common words for an idiot ! if we’re talking swear words in irish , though , i personally love féin truailleathóir –––– it literally means self polluter , which is a wanker so !
thirty . do you have people of different nationalities in your family ?
not really ? my dad’s family are from northern ireland , which can be a uhhhh very contentious issue in itself , and all bar my sister - in - law are staunch republicans so … i’m gonna have to say no lmao to the best of my knowledge we're all pretty irish

nicholas devereaux .
There’s a nod as he lets out a laugh of his own. It certainly does answer his question. But now more arise in its place. Little questions of when the last time she waltzed was, and how often she attends celebrations such as these, but more importantly, a question that’s been on his mind from the moment her performance ended. For what may be the hundredth time this evening, he bows, but it doesn’t hold the same quiet exasperation that often plagues the gesture. No, this time he’s excited, eagerness hidden in the curl of his smile.
“Then,” he holds out his hand, an offer, “may I have this dance?”
she greatly enjoys people , truly she does , but to say meg was a little out of her element at the moment would be an understatement . she was by no means a society girl , so any kind of divertissement would be most appreciated on her behalf –––– and though it’s a question she probably ought to have seen coming , surprise greets her nonetheless , causing her smile to widen even further . ❝ oh , gladly ! i just hope my waltzing lives up to any expectations you may have for me . ❞ she gives a neat little curtsy before accepting the hand offered to her , enthusiasm alight .
nicholas devereaux .
“You’re a remarkable dancer.” Performance long over, dozens of ladies and lords now glide across the ballroom floor she once occupied, nothing quite as graceful as her display hours earlier. Before tonight he would’ve claimed he didn’t care for ballet, perhaps even mentioned he’s never watched a show of his own volition, but that’s changed. He’s left with nothing but an appreciation for the art, a sudden understanding — he understands why Her Majesty invited the performers, why she insisted on having them present at the coronation ceremony.
A smile tugs at the corners of his lips.
“Tell me, are you as skilled at the waltz as you are at ballet?”
@seraphites / liked.
it never fails to amaze her how touched she is with every compliment , every acclamation . it all serves a wonderful purpose in meg’s eyes , for it assures her that she hasn’t yet lost her talent . and what an honour it is , being invited to perform at a coronation as distinguished as this ! she may find herself in the somewhat regular company of french nobility after performances back home , but they positively pale in comparison to the royals of genovia : though such a detail would never be spoken aloud .
❝ –––– there is only one way to know , non ? ❞ dimples bloom as she laughs , fingers moving to lace together before her as she raises her gaze to meet his . ❝ perhaps not as skilled as i am in ballet , but i certainly know of the waltz , if that answers your question . ❞
listen, when i go to open my mouth & what comes out is 12 degrees of seperation from what the original topic was, u need to connect the dots bitch. think fast. i’m not gonna hold ur hand but we’re leaving now and visiting every topic along the line. wave it goodbye, don’t get hung up on it
LEAVE THE PAST WHERE IT BELONGS .
the tension in the room only grew as time ticked away— painfully and slowly. her own discomfort became more and more noticeable to the eye, for her weight shifted from one foot to the other every so often and she chewed at her bottom lip. with the younger, blonde woman only spewing out a question or two at a time, it was seemingly difficult for her to assume what she was trying to convey. but slowly and slowly, things were coming together and she would become aware of what it was that meg was pointing at.
‘ the summer of… ‘ the repetition of words is mumbled to herself and she can’t help but narrow her eyes while she looked the other’s way. old memories that had been cast aside started to surface and an anxious feeling found its way into the pit of her chest. ‘ i was, yes. it was an unexpected trip though, very short. ‘
❝ I SEE . ❞ that almost stuns her into silence , and she mulls over everything in her head for the thousandth time that day . nothing has been admitted yet , yet the change in lily’s demeanour indicates that she’s at least beginning to catch onto what meg is trying to lead up to : trying being the operative word .
for a woman who has almost always known what to say , and who’s never shied away from conflict or controversy , meg is at odds with herself . not wanting to come right out with any accusations or acknowledgements due to her own reluctance in believing it , she’s skirting around the issue at hand , which doesn’t seem to be getting her anywhere . ❝ might i ask what the , the purpose of this trip was ? ❞

AVOIR ELLE EST AVOIR LES ÉTOILÉS .
LISE HAS NEVER REALLY FIT IN with the other dancers. most of her training had come before the war began, but afterwards, that was no longer the case. lise wasn’t allowed to attend classes, even if under the watchful eye of madame baurel or henri. she resided to teaching herself, trying to remember all that her mother had taught her. but it is difficult, now, to try and integrate back into a company that is so tight knit. she’s grateful for meg’s kindness towards her. ❝ oh, i am sure that they do. how could they not? ❞ her smile brightens a bit. ❝ you make it all seem so effortless. ❞
❝ THAT’S WHAT WE ALL DO FOR A LIVING , THOUGH , ISN’T IT ? ❞ warmth permeates her features , seeping into every nook and cranny . she was fortunate enough to be able to continue her training throughout the war , quite successfully for the most part . but she is now painfully aware that not everybody else was as fortunate as she was . ❝ i don’t think as many people would enjoy coming to watch us if we acted the way we felt –––– god knows how much i’d have loved to just fall on the floor after that variation ! ❞
Una Merkel (inventing FML) in True Confession (1937).
LA DOLCE VITA .
°♔ ║ —— CRINGE EXPRESSION STAINED ON HER FACE : she looks at the dancer & the strange board in her hands . ( what is this ? why is my name on there ? tutti qui sono strani . ) curiosity playing her . she’s intrigued & yet at the same time NERVOUS .
—— ❝ giry what is the meaning of this ? ❞
@seraphites·
NOTHING BUT PURE MISCHIEF IS PRINTED ON EVERY INCH OF HER FEATURES . she’s had this board in the works for at least a month now , putting away a few centimes of her pocket money every week so that she could purchase the materials to make it . the end product was something she was proud of –––– though the italian soprano certainly didn’t seem so enamoured with it . ❝ you see , madame , i thought it might ... incentivise you to improve your behaviour ! every time you do something nice for someone here at the opera house , such as being so kind to me on my birthday , i will place one gold star next to your name . ❞ she gestures towards the bag of felt shapes hanging at the side of the board , vaguely star - like . meg though it was a very intelligent idea indeed !
LEAVE THE PAST WHERE IT BELONGS .
blue eyes remain on the younger woman and the worried expression upon her own face never left. in fact, only did it grow. some relief is brought to her when meg doesn’t shy away, though it isn’t much. the countess had unknowingly and knowingly caused hurt to others throughout life, that was something that couldn’t be denied even if she tried to, but try as she may she couldn’t think of a single thing she might’ve done or said to bring harm to the other.
thin brows become arched and her arms fell down to her sides. the uneasiness shared between the two of them is enough to make the woman who carried herself with plentiful confidence feel off. ‘ i visited a lot of places often back then, but yes… you could say that i did. ‘
HER HEART HAMMERS AWAY INSIDE HER CHEST , LIKE A HUMMINGBIRD . the longer she stands there , her feet seemingly embedded in the marble floor , the more she is filled with regret . perhaps there’s still time for her to turn back , to feign illness and blame her strange behaviour with the countess on that –––– yet she knows deep down that she won’t rest until this has been dealt with , until she has a clear answer to all of the questions that linger in her head .
❝ i don’t suppose you can remember if you were … if you were here in the summer of 1902 ? around the , the start of june . ❞ meg herself is uncertain of just where she’s going with this line of questioning , but the concept is a difficult one to grasp , and she’s just trying to get her head around it .
Evgenia Obraztsova in Sleeping Beauty act III
Just look at how articulate her feet are, the position of her head, neck, shoulder and on top of it her port de bras is very beautiful. It’s very understated but part of the technique (that often overlooked) nonetheless.
shoves her into the black lake so she can find out about the squid having feelings or not (happy birthday meg :*)
❝ THEA QUEEN , DON’T YOU DARE ! ❞ any attempt to persuade her roommate to show mercy fails miserably , and arms soon flail rather ungracefully about as meg tumbles backwards . an involuntary gasp as lithe figure connects with freezing water , limbs thrashing about as her system almost reboots itself in the unfamiliar environment . she’s laughing through chattering teeth when she comes up to the surface , though , taking on the appearance of a drowned rat . ❝ oh , i’m gonna get you back for that ! ❞
Meg. I heard it was your birthday. Now don’t thinking this makes us friends and all. But I was never one to not give presents. So here I bought you some roses and ballet shoes. buon compleanno
IT’S UNEXPECTED , TO SAY THE LEAST . she wouldn’t go so far as to say they were friends , though meg supposes she is the rat who manages to get away with the most when it comes to the diva and her … fickle temperament . any apprehension the blonde initially had however quickly vanishes , not wanting to appear ungrateful . a cheerful smile is worn as she takes the gifts handed to her , sinking into a somewhat flimsy curtsey when a hug seems out of the question . ❝ grazie , signora ! you didn’t have to , really . ❞
