“I’ve been on stage since I was two or three. It feels more like home than my apartment or even my childhood house. I’ve definitely spent more time on it than at home. Voice lessons helps too,” She rattled off quickly, still high from the feeling of being on stage.

“It is also a good workout,” She insisted, “You should give it a try sometime.”

“Oh–me?” He mustered up the courage to speak up finally, even if his words weren’t exactly as he planned. ‘Of course you, idiot’, he thought begrudgingly to himself before clearing his throat. “It’s–really not my thing. More of a shower singer myself…”
“The stage isn’t for everyone,” Serena agreed with a shrug of her shoulders. The last thing she was going to do was push someone into the spotlight who didn’t want or deserve it. The stage was more of a sacred place to her, even if a karaoke bar didn’t exactly sit as a quality stage. “The shower cannot applaud.”

“I must not work?” Serena laughed, the idea absurd, “I work seven days a week and I have never had a vacation. That includes my childhood. So trust me, I know what I’m talking about.”

Caleb was a couple of drinks in before he even noticed that someone was sitting next to him. Or who it even was for that matter, “I need a fucking vacation. I really, really long one..”
“High goals and plans to achieve them are far better than vacations,” Serena assured the man next to her.

“From what you have told me, you sound extremely talented. I cannot keep a beat let alone dance without making a fool of myself.” The man informed her with a smile.
“It is ten percent talent and ninety percent complete dedication,” She promised.

Sebastian’s eyes widened at her words and he quickly shook his head. “I, could never…do that. I’m, fine just…watching.”
“The envy in your eyes says otherwise, but I’m not going to waste my time pressing you,” She sighed casually.

Aiden raised an eyebrow and just shook his head. “I haven’t actually sang a song in front of anyone in months, I don’t think I’d sound very good. I can handle public embarrassment, but having my voice break during Oops I Did It Again isn’t something I want on my repertoire.” He laughed, rolling his eyes.
“You might also have some Britt fans who are ready to drag you off stage for ruining their queen’s song,” Serena nodded in agreement, “And they’re drunk enough that injuries are sure things.”

Gulping, Fox immediately looked down once he realized the woman’s words were intended for him. The last thing he wanted in any situation was attention and this was no different. Hopefully, if he didn’t respond and stay in his chair, she would direct herself else where. That was the goal, at least.
“I’m not going to force you up there,” Serena reassured curtly, “If you don’t belong on stage, you don’t belong on stage. It is absolutely not made for everyone.”

“I really shouldn’t.” she replied, shaking her head. Blips of past karaoke fails surfacing in her mind, Ivy shuddered at the thought alone. “Not without at least two shots, and I’m supposed to be up early tomorrow…” trailing off, that thought was just as mind numbing, causing her to straighten up on her barstool to signal for the bartender. “Two!-” If the night was going in this direction, she wasn’t going to drink alone. “-No, four shots of your finest whiskey! – under $10!”
“I can get you back home safely - or at least into a cab with the destination entered,” Serena promised, “But if you don’t wake up to your alarm, I cannot control that. Set two.” The brunette snickered as the amount of alcohol doubled immediately upon ordering. Perhaps she was going to have a singing partner tonight. A list of duets ran through her head.
She finished her karaoke song and hopped down off the stage, walking back into the main part of the bar. “I see that look in your eyes. If you want to sing, get up there and do it.”

Serena cut her eyes over at him, “A man with a mouth. Nothing new there.”

“I’m just going to fess up right now and just say no, I'm so lost and confused about it.” He admitted. “I’m going to feel pretty stupid after you explain it cause then it’s just going to be so obvious. And I usually get these things.”
“If you take the letter i out of fish, you’re left with f-s-h. So then, when you pronounce it, it’s fshhh. But people think you are talking about no eyes,” She tried to explain without sounding patronizing.

“I definitely wasn’t though I’m sure my parents wished I was more often than not,” Ethan joked before nodding approvingly. “It’s a huge step! Especially compared to the baby step I took,” he teased. After all Boston wasn’t too far away from New York at all. “I agree - I think that’s just being human. We all strive for things and when you stop, you won’t for long because the next thing is just waiting for you. I think that’s what keeps all of us going.”
“I mean, the lobster in Maine is far superior, but New York has it beat on everything else,” Serena insisted, “I know I couldn’t stand it if I thought I had made it to the peak of my career and there was nothing else to do. Complacency is not a good look on me - neither is laziness. That’s when the dangerous part of me starts to come out and rear her ugly head - that ugly head that no amount of makeup can cover up.”

“Same, though I am sure to others enjoyed the joke.” Silas crinkled his nose, “other dancers? I am assuming you are a dancer. What kind?”
“Ballet, mostly. Although, I’ve dabbled in contemporary, tap, jazz,” She trailed off, “You know, the normal lineup. I’ve tried hip hop, but it doesn’t like me much.”

Connor laughed,” Lettuce isn’t that deep.” He looked at the asshole sitting down,” Now please eat then leave before I knock your jaw lose okay.” Connor made no empty threats he was dead serious.”
“You can probably leave him alone now,” Serena suggested, confused, “I ate the lettuce so there is no more problem.”

“Wait,” She paused, starting to laugh again, “Do you at least get it now or do I have to explain it?”
