“isn’t that what i always do, anyway ??” a dumb question. usually, she knew how to calm herself down when necessary. but, most people still thought of her as a somewhat hot-headed dweeb – which wouldn’t be that far from the truth, really. scrunching her nose up at both, his comment and the tap she had received, byeol could only do so much as roll her eyes in a rather playful manner. “of course i do. one of us has to, after all…” it was nothing but a banter, her words meant no harm, and seunghee probably knew that already. hopefully, she didn’t take the joke too far, though. she may have never known how to shut up, but at least she was aware that sometimes her words and the tone she was using at the moment could easily get misinterpreted. a misunderstanding was the last thing she wanted today; she already had quite a rough morning, and this would only make her even more annoyed than before. “well… i don’t think i need an actual meal, when a whole ass meal is standing right before my eyes,” she spoke up once again, seconds before shooting him finger guns as she pulled a funny face.
“— oh, no !! i do like my job. i love it, even. it’s the people that sometimes make it a terrible experience for me,” byeol was quick to explain, “don’t you have annoying customers, yourself ?? like… snotty, entitled douchebags that tend to know everything better than you ?? sometimes you just wanna drop the metaphorical towel on the ground and tell them to do it themselves, you know how it is…” she then trailed off, shrugging ever so fondly. “well, someone’s gotta keep your ego in check, babe,” byeol mused, her tone matching seunghee’s for a brief second. she was glad that she could say something like that and not offend the other person – that’s just how they were, apparently. “— the last time i saw him, he seemed… alright ?? what’s going on ??” not really the best attempt to mask all her worries about jihoon, but now that the question was up in the air, she simply could not take it back, now, could she ?? “i am fine. not just saying that so you could lay off of my case. i have seen better days, but i can’t complain – i wouldn’t lie to you, would i ??”
“Nah. You don’t bumble through your day,” he hummed, “maybe you assault each day as it comes, but you always sort things out in the end.” Seunghee laughed and rolled his eyes, bumping his hip against hers at her joking around. At her flirty remark, he grinned at her and turned, looping one arm around her waist and pulled her close, dipping her and using his free hand to tip her chin up to face him.. “A whole ass meal, huh, sweetheart?” He teased, nose barely brushing hers and an eyebrow quirked flirtatiously. “You look pretty tasty yourself,” he added with a smirk, before standing up again and pulling her up with him.
Seunghee hummed to himself as he bustled about the kitchen and made her breakfast, listening to her ramble. “I mean, of course. I get hit on by various people an average of five times a day and there’s always at least three insecure guys on dates who feel the need to flex so their date don’t get distracted by me. The troubles of being handsome,” he sighed dramatically, woefully looking in the distance. “But it must be worse for you. Woman in mechanics and all. I bet you kick their asses, though.”
