To be alive and try to be a decent person, and not turn it into anything big or grand, that’s the hardest thing of all.

Considering how slow cacti tend to grow, that's especially amazing? Lke, that guy survived for YEARS on minimal light before reaching the top of that pole! An inspiration to us all!

i'm learning that a lot of the project inspiration stuff i thought was helping me is secretly not helping. making playlists for my characters, writing little in-character vignettes, etc is FUN and ENRICHING but it is not SATISFYING. i spend all my energy making paraphernalia and the actual story suffers. i love when other people do this for their stories and just assumed it would work for me. turns out it is my number one procrastination technique and what i need to do 90% of the time is get down and dirty and do the actual chore of writing
weirdly i'm learning this about a lot of other things in life too. i often want to pick up aesthetically pleasing habits or ones i've seen other people succeed at, like keeping a detailed physical planner or adding aesthetic embellishments to everyday tasks. it turns out that what works best for me is very often doing the most efficient and least Most Interesting Man thing possible. which pisses me off because i adore frippery and inconvenience but i have now been an adult with adhd for long enough to know that the more complications i add the less likely i'll ever really start
I made a trans masc Venus of Willendorf! Love how it turned out he is so cute!

You should be starting a recipe book. I don't give a shit if you're only 20-years-old. The modern web is rotting away bit by bit before our very eyes. You have no idea when that indie mom blog is going down or when Pinterest will remove that recipe. Copy it down in a notebook, physically or digitally. Save it somewhere only you can remove it. Trust me, looking for a recipe only to find out it's been wiped off the internet is so fucking sad. I've learned my lesson one too many times.
