whether or not GTA 6 succeeds really does feel like it may have a considerable chance of deciding if the video game industry as we know it dies right then and there. it feels less like a game and more like a demonic media entity that companies are sacrificing billions of dollars in hope of summoning

GTA 6 being a flop would make me so happy. The AAA business model has been a rotten tree for a long time, and it's only becoming more unstable year over year. It should be chopped down to allow midrange and indie developers to flourish in the sun light.

One Hundred Years of Solitude has been one of the most impactful stories of my life and at it's basically a story about people making mistakes. Each generation of this family is fighting for something - innovation, The Liberal Party, labour rights, or generally just to keep the family from getting themselves killed all the time, but no matter how hard they struggle, they never end up happy, and by the time a guy from generation 6 is getting ready to leave all of this tangled history behind and forget it, he realizes that the events of the past century resulted in conditions that set him up for failure, that history is so thick that he can't get out of its hold. That is the story of SO MANY families. They couldn't break the cycle so we must. In a way, Marquez already broke some kind of vicious cycle by writing the book.
