hii!!! hello! I am Quinn or Sh4adow, this is my main acc!

-I'm quite new to posting/tumblr in general, so please excuse me LOL

-I'm in a TON (and I mean a TON) of fandoms, my main 2 rn are Newsies and Poppy Playtime!! Others are BATIM, Cuphead, MOTM, Sonic, anime (i need to watch more), TADC, TLKOE, Gravity Falls, Hellaverse, EPIC, Hamilton, Great Gatsby, PHM, SIX, Heathers, Hadestown, does Jeremy Jordan count as a fandom cuz if so, yes, etc!

-I'm VERY VERY VERYYY into musicals, indie horror/animation, books, drawing/writing, etc!

-I'm Dominican + American! My Spanish isn't so good, shhhh..

-I identify as aroace + non-binary, I also have ADHD! My preferred pronouns are he/they! She is also fine, but not as preferred as the others.

-I'm a MINOR.

-I love to yap, like, a LOT. If you know me irl, I'm basically a different person (IN A GOOD WAY) on the internet. and if ur on this blog chat...? leave.

the art of the first kiss: a prompt list!

let's pretend i didn't start writing this three months ago... i tried to make this extra long to make up for my hiatus :)

also, happy pride, everyone!

"am i reading this wrong?" said in a low tone, for only the other to hear

"i saw you looking at my lips," said teasingly, to gauge the other's reaction

the fraction of a second where their faces are just close: lips ghosting each other's, taking this moment in, almost waiting for one to give in first

in the middle of a heated conversation

an emotionally charged embrace, pulling away and realizing how close their faces are, and leaning in

one brushing hair out of the other's face, the featherlight touch (or any light touch tbh)

a simple "can i?"/"can i kiss you?" because consent is important!

"can we stop pretending?"

a barely audible, "come here"

one is concerned for the other (physical injury, emotional conflict, etc), and they respond with "you always make sure i'm okay," maybe a "why?" then the air changes

"show me what you want."

one leans in and pauses, to which the other responds with some grounding gesture (a touch/"please"/a slight nod/etc) to communicate their own desire

orrr they lean in, slightly panic, and move back, to which the other pulls them in (lightly) by their arm/coat/collar/cheek/belt loops/etc

"you talk a lot." while the other is mid ramble

"you have no idea how long i've wanted to do this"

the first kiss being messy and impassioned, then the second being softer and more familiar, as though their minds are catching up with reality

"you really can't see it, can you?"

the energy shifting right as one openly glances at the other's lips

(and maybe a laugh, "what?" as the other person does this)

GUYS HELP.

does anyone have like ANY tips on what i can do if I just genuinely hate my art style.

like been struggling w/ it for a few months now, and I srsly need to do something before I decide to just quit fuckin drawing forever

i THINK ive found a style i like!!! im SO SO SO greatful for everyone who helped me and ur tips were super super helpful!

Ill still be experimenting, but im pretty sure im satisfied for now <33

im curious, is there a reason Crow wears the scarf??

YES THERE IS that scarf has hella lore. ok tw lore drop below (/silly (like on the tw part it's not that bad))

It was their mother's scarf actually. While she certainly wasn't an ideal parent, she more or less knew that Crow was running off for good one winter and gave it to them, being like "Don't let the cold be what ends up killing you." They wear it throughout the winter. It, along with the memories it carries, aren't ideal, but it's the only protection Crow has against the wind.

The next summer, when Crow is a newsie, the scarf isn't really necessary anymore. It's warmer now. Crow has spent enough time on the streets to know the winds and in turn, the winds have been kinder. But Crow keeps wearing that scarf, less as protection and more as an accessory. It, along with the memories it carries, aren't something that Crow needs to use to shield themself from the world anymore. They're something that Crow carries as a part of them, that have become part of their world (the scarf is manhattan blue!!)

Also less happy ending, but I also like to think about how realistically Crow probably couldn't have put the scarf down, or at least couldn't bring themself to, because it's one of the only things they have. Likewise they carry their trauma with them because it's one of the only things they have, and having a scarf during summer is so much safer than not having anything when the winter comes.

Sometimes I'll be reading a longer post and in my peripheral vision, I'll hallucinate a blue dot on the menu thingy but dont wanna stop reading the post cause once I see the blue dot I gotta click on it for reasons unknown to me, then finish the post and look up to see no blue dot and it makes me sad :(

y'all ever think about the possibility that some of the newsies families could've run out of money and actually suffered a lot while they were striking? think about it. the strike lasted like 2 weeks and for some of the newsies their parents didn't make a lot of money and they were the ones supporting their family. so with them not making any money for 2 weeks straight there is a high chance that their families had to pay the price too.

so in the 1890s dating language was a lot different from today…

so the newsies could say they were going on dates… but it would more likely be referred to as a public courtship.

and the terms Boyfriend and Girlfriend wouldn’t exist until the 1910-20s but they did have

beau- male partner /boyfriend (pronounced bow)

belle- female partner /girlfriend

unfortunately there’s no gender neutral because uh pre modern era and all, but I think Partner or Courted would work

Other common pet names include: angel, baby, beloved, darling, dear, dearest, honey, heart, love, lover, precious, sweetheart, treasure
