Wicked Wonderland AU

Heat me out, so we see Red get some of her memories from this timeline in the maze, almost like she becoming a part of this timeline which is something I saw a lot of people theorize after Ride of Red but at the end when Bridget says "Off with your head" it got me thinking what does that mean everyone else is experiencing memories from the first timeline? Like it seems to be happening slowly but imagine this.

Months pass after Wicked Wonderlan, and suddenly we keep hearing that Wonderland citizens have been getting bad dreams. All of which revolving around the queen, at first people shrug it off but then over time they subconciously start to fear her. Then on the other hand Bridget keeps having these sudden fits of anger, she'd not sleeping because she keeps having dreams of being a monster, people laughing at her, hurting people, but that's not how the dance went right? Her people love her, so then why does it feel like her Citizens are turning there backs on her? Pink is getting nervous for her mom she's acting strange, and all these weird dreams everyones getting seems to not be affecting her it's weird, her sister is feelings more and less like herself and she seems to keep thinking that their mom would hurt them. Which she would never do... right?

Chloe on the other hand is going through it, the more Ella remembers the more she wants to forget. Bridget and her... what they were, what they are? Ella tries to brush it off and tell everyone to keep smiling but Chloe has noticed her parents spending less and less time togethe, different rooms, then different castles, even with their new memories Red and Chloe feel as alienated as ever, and the worst part, in finding the truth of their past in this timeline they're also remembering truths they weren't there to say their selves. In this timeline they've known each other for much longer longer. They've told each other secrets that weren't their own, but some how it still feels like they were there to see it happen. And the cherry on top, there's no pocket watch to fix things this time.

Wicked Wonderland Headcanon:

Did you ever saw those "pack my children's bento" videos? That would be Bridget.

Not as in she would make the videos but she would legitimately find any occasion to pack Red and Pink's meal when they were kids and it would always the most beautiful and most delicious food you ever saw.

From time to time she would have a friendly competition with Ella to see who could make the cutest lunch for their daughters and to this day they are still tied because while Bridget easily wins for all the desserts, Ella works best with the main meal

When Red and Pink went to visit Chloe as kids, they would always come back and say that Ella cooked them a delicious meal (and they would insist it was Ella and not the royal cook) just so that Bridget would be competitive and also cook for them.

Bridget knew, but she didn't care, she thought it was cute and she also knew Chloe did the same to Ella

as someone who has encanto in their top ten disney animations. it really feels like to me that the creators of descendants read a wiki description of luisa and listened to surface pressure when they created luis because he doesn't make sense.

for starters why does he have the exact same gift as his mom? each madrigal gets their own unique gifts and as seen in the film when a madrigal has a child the child does not receive an exact copy their parents gifts, they receive their own.

now they could have pulled it back by saying luis did get luisa's gift and he felt isolated from his family because of it as they all have different gifts (or no gifts in mirabel's case) and because his is the same he felt unremarkable compared to the others but alas, it was not expanded on.

also the colour scheme for him is bothering me because they have him a coat like the candle (i am guessing that's what that was supposed to be) but luisa's colour schemes are purple/white/blue. it is just giving that they used encanto without really knowing encanto.

We just got to know Luis, and not in the context of his family alone. We don't know what his situation looks like, and that's because we didn't get to that part just yet. Mind you, Madrigals are now much larger than they used to be, so who's to say Luis literally didn't receive "hand-me-downs" his entire life?

Furthermore, it should be noted that all gifts represent family roles and burdens each Madrigal possesses. Isabella was the golden child with the ability to create beautiful flowers because that's how she was portrayed. Luisa was the one during the most labour, hence her having super strength to be able to lift it all. Who's to say Luis ultimately didn't end up in a similar place where he's also expected to be able to lift it all?

Madrigals may have initially solved their family problems, but the struggles don't disappear forever, even in the healthiest family dynamics, especially with the Madrigals ' status as unofficial royals of Encanto who have to do everything for their community.

A little thought about Descendants: Wicked Wonderland

I think Max was in his right to be upset that in one life his father was actually kind to him, but how i wished we had a scene where Red explains to him why going back to old timeline is bad idea.

Like, just Red being like "Max I get why you're upset, really I do, but between you having a unfortunate life where your father doesn't love you, and saving the life of the thousands maybe hundreds of thousands of innocent people who died because of the Queen's tyranny, making sure most people have a life where they can bake cupcakes and go back home at the hours they want and being able to have a basic life, the choice is kind of easy, like- Even if I'm happy that this time my mother loves me, I also very much enjoy my people being able to not live in fear!"

Because let's be honest, Bridget was a menace, she definitely killed innocent people and her not being a tyrant would actually save some people😭

(That and the fact that while we know Max had a father that loved him, we're not fully sure he was happy! He lived under a dictatorship, I think he must have been happy with his father, but he could have been miserable because he lived under a tyrant! Maddox certainly didn't look that happy living under tyrant!Bridget...👀)

(But I also understand that he probably saw just a few seconds of the timeline and was more focused on the fact that one: his father loved him, and two: Red lied to him)

That's a pretty insensitive explanation you wrote. Like, you're correct, but I'd be pissed off in Max's position if someone told me this.

For what it's worth, Max IS smart enough to know that time travel logically is not a good idea, but he was acting on his feelings. Once he calmed down, he was willing to follow Red's lead because he knew time travel is not the solution.

I think my post might have been received in a way that I didn't intend for it to be.

My post is not trying to be an explanation of parts of the plot or an insult to character of Max, but rather it's meant to express how I wish the film and the saga as it's whole, dove into a deeper and darker train of thoughts.

The point of the post wasn't to say that Max was dumb or that he couldn't have come to the conclusion that changing the past is a bad idea but rather that I wish we could have dug deeper on how horrible the original timeline was, and if the producer had wanted to do so, it would have been interesting to take Max's points of view, which had been altered by seeing his father machine and Chessy's manipulation tactics and show how terrible it was by having Red describe how terrible it truly was, and pointing some real consequences for not only her and her close friends, but all of Wonderland’s and Aurdadon's citizens too. (Which they could have also used to show Red cares about the state of Wonderland, because while she doesn't want to be queen, or at least she didn’t want to be in the original timeline, I whish we saw Red's relationship to Wonderland and it's citizens from the point view of the daughter of a tyrant but I digress)

Sadly I also know this is descendants and the targeted audience are kids and at best tweens so...We're not going to get any 'darker' train of thoughts lol

It would have been interesting if maybe we could have seen Maddox's or Max's thoughts from the original timeline, to see how they actually lived and if they were relatively happy or truly only had each other, it also would have been a nice contrast between Max who grew up on the isle and in extreme poverty vs Max who grew up as the son of a respected teacher/someone who was tolerated by the Queen (as we saw Maddox interrupting court and not getting punished or worse for, and having access to a workshop in the castle, and having control of his machines at any hour as we saw with the grip thing used to save Red from the guards with)

But all in all, it wasn't meant to say "Max is dumb and a selfish character" or something like that

No no, I understood what you meant. I'm just saying that 1) you worded this terribly if that's how you would write a dialogue with Max and 2) Max would indeed come to this conclusion himself anyway so you don't need to explain it to him.

It would be nice to explore the old life of Hatter family though.

To me Maddox and Max's mother are divorced in both timelines, but in the old timeline it was more 'they lost romantic feelings for the other over time and decided splitting would be best.' Obviously It was difficult for Max when it happened, but his parents made sure he knew they still loved him very much. In the new timeline it went over a lot worse, with Max's mother feeling like she was being pushed aside for that stupid pocket watch, and it eventually got to a point where one day she packed her bags and left after a particularly awful fight with Maddox. Max begged her not to go and she had to explain why she couldn't stay with his father anymore on her own.
