once more stating on this blog that i absolutely will not stand for any racism or hatred towards hudson in the tags or comments of posts. he has done absolutely NOTHING to warrant the vitriol and abuse that is hurled his way, except be authentically and lovingly himself.

the fact that it has gotten so bad that both he & françois have posted the same statement to their instagram stories should be a wake up call. the heated rivalry fandom has a racism problem. it has a homophobia problem. these things are true, and they SHOULD make you uncomfortable. i am white, and i cannot imagine how exhausting it must be to be a person of colour in this fandom who has to see the racism that is spewed daily, that other white fans handwave away because they don’t want their “joyful” fandom space ruined. people have been in hudson’s instagram comments all day, calling him slurs that haven’t been used since the 1940s. that is NOT acceptable and it is NEVER okay. this has been happening since NOVEMBER.

i will always call racism out where i see it. i am grateful that françois also shared this post, as i do believe there needs to be an onus on the white cast & crew to speak up when racism is being done in their name. i am sad hudson was one of the first to say anything, but it just shows the kind of person he is — thoughtful, caring & protective of his friends. we could all aspire to be a bit more like that.
