well, i initially conceptualized him as a private investigator and his personality was supposed to be "depressed and cynical", but considering his backstory and his behavior i had a feeling i was going to walk RIGHT into the "misunderstood sad and depressed guy that these internet randos will glaze to hell" trope

and boy did i NOT want to go that route!!! it's too overdone!!! not to mention it was kinda hard to write his personality w/ all that sad "no direction in life" stuff... i think if i went down that route a little more i would've bent the world around justifying his existence and that's... not good actually. damn
