I'm on a percabeth kick so bad right now. Like. Just thinking about how well they work with Percy’s incredibly random and fragmented thoughts and Annabeth’s hyperfixation on anything posed as question. I.e.
Percy: do you ever wonder how many meatballs can fit inside the earth?
Annabeth: no, but give me a pencil and a meatball and we’ll figure it out-
Okay, so I did some googling, some basic math and some unit conversions and here's how many meatballs fit inside planet Earth:
Let's have some numbers associated with those meatballs:
My tape measure and my human brain with many years of cooking experience have gauged the average meatball to have an diameter of around 3-5 cm, depending on meatball usage (tho, I'd tend to go with 5 cm when cooking but who knows how americans cook?) which gives us the following:
diameter (meatball) = 3-5 cm => radius (meatball) = 1.5 - 2.5 cm
assuming, our average meatball is a perfect sphere, we can use the formula
V = 0.75*pi*r³
to calculate our meatballs volume, which leads to:
Volume(meatball) = 7.952 - 36.816 cm³.
Unfortunately, Earth is not a perfect ball, so instead of calculating its volume, I googled it and I got the following:
Volume(Earth) = 1.0833*10¹² km³ = 1.0833*10¹⁵ cm³
Now that we have our numbers, we can divide Earth's volume by the volume of our average meatball and get an appropriate number:
In words and rounded(because those powers to the base of ten do not tell my computer science monkey scientist brain anything other than a fucking lot):
Assuming you squash the meatballs very tight together without any gaps, you might be able to fit around 30 to 140 trillion meatballs inside Earth. That's a lot.
I suppose this might be a new collage? Probably not a complete one, but I would like to draw some of the characters from this time period that I liked or found otherwise notable.
I wanted to include Clearsight's parents in this post, but the prospect of drawing five full-body pictures of dragons in one post filled me with some kind of emotion, so if I do that, it'll likely happen later.
Clearsight
The mother of pantaloons herself. She is described as slender, beautiful, and as having purple eyes. The graphic novels so far have one depiction of a Nightwing using future-sight and it shows her eyes glowing an eerie white while she does it. Clearsight's method of using her clairvoyance is very unorthodox, but I like to imagine she still gets this effect when she looks ahead at future events. Only in her case it looks less ominous and much more casual. I picture her sitting at the dinner table with her eyes lighting up every few minutes, until her mother finally goes "now dear, we've agreed; no future-vision during meal time." So she sighs and silently continues eating her beet salad.
Also, obligatory mention that the silver scale in the center of her forehead is, once again, a reference to my partner @flamebringer0 's theory about Nightwing powers and indicates the presence of prophetic powers, like eye scales would mark a mind reader.
Listener
Clearsight's bestie is described as large, long-necked, and curvy, and seems like a good extroverted foil to someone who spends most of her time cooped up inside her own head. She comes across as a bit of a romance-obsessed airhead, but some of the things she tells Clearsight are actually pretty reasonable, and I like to think Clearsight becomes more appreciative of Listener's ideas and influence once she departs the continent and they are separated.
Apparently she later writes a scroll about Clearsight being the most brilliant prophet who ever lived. I would like to know how that affected her life, considering the Nightwing tribe probably remembers Clearsight as "that lady who was fawning over the crazed warlock we all ran away from". Did Listener catch push-back for publishing a laudatory script about someone like that?
Thoughtful
Here is glass boy. The book describes him as handsome with circular glasses. I accidentally drew him a bit more chubby than I intended, but honestly, I think it suits him. He looks very pleasant and friendly, which seems to be in line with his general character. I am actually very happy with how this drawing turned out.
Also, he is not bipedal in this picture. He is resting his weight on his two hind legs and tail. I think of this as "tripod stance"; it's a body posture a dragon can assume to free up their front legs to do precision work. It is relatively stable, but grows uncomfortable if you stay that way for too long (tail cramp).
Also, you can't really walk like that. To walk on their hind legs with any kind of proficiency, a dragon has to place both of their wings on the ground to substitute their front limbs.
libby’s style is a batter of goth with a slight alt/punk and southern edge. get it? i used batter instead of mix because she bakes (this is your cue to laugh). i’m thinking eerie, vintage, but edgy all at the same time! she’s a sucker for velvet, leather, and distressed lace. she gravitates towards dark palettes and jewel tones. boots, studded belts, silver buckles and jewelry are a must!
for her casual style, she’ll pair a corset with leather pants or blue jeans, throw in belts and necklaces. or she’ll go for short dresses, paired with ripped leggings/lace stockings and combat boots.
for formal events, she leans more into a vintage vibe. square necklines, satin and lace dresses, strapped velvet gowns, paired with long gloves and delicate neckpieces.
occasionally, she'll incorporate southern elements into her style. she’ll experiment with plaids, add in a velvet cowboy hat, western style belts and of course yeehaw boots!
💻: EXHALES! so this took a bit of an effort. also, what did nash do to get this snack?? anyway, these are so fun to work on and the reactions to gray's post have been so sweet! do tell what you guys think.
📷 grayson's style is a blend of old money, vintage and the 60's. I see some remus lupin there and like subtle grandpa vibes. I guess you could say he's dressed to impress .. 🥁 (that was a punchline)
for the formal public, he goes for tailored suits in black, grays, and occasionally navy. for patterns, a classic pin-stripe or plaid. for trousers, the good old classic straight leg fit.
for a more casual outerwear, he opts for cozy fabrics like cotton and wool. he usually gravitates towards muted, cool tones, and neutrals. for summers, he goes for loose trousers, cotton dress shirts or zip-up polos. for winters, he'll throw in suede jackets and knit sweaters.
💻: alright! this is the first piece of my "styling the inheritance games cast" series or whatever this is. I'm not too sure about the presentation. it's a bit awkward but i'd love to know what you all think!! ooo and, who shall be next?
note: i love making these it’s so fun. again this is just my opinion not how she would specifically dress in the books!!
cloths
she gravitates toward warm earth tones — deep browns, soft taupes, muted burgundy, warm creams, rust reds, and dark plum
she prefers soft, textured fabrics: velvet trims, knit sleeves, chiffon layers, lace panels, and light ruffles that feel romantic but not too dramatic
fitted tops with delicate detailing — ruched fronts, lace hems, ribbon ties
long skirts with subtle floral pattern or plain especially in brown or burgundy tones; she loves fabrics that flow when she walks
denim skirts or dark-wash long skirts with a gentle flare, paired with simple tees or fitted tops
she wears a lot of layered outfits — a thin long-sleeve under a corset-style top, a tied wrap sweater over a lace cami, cardigans over patterned blouses
she chooses jeans in softer fits: straight-leg, lightly flared, mid-rise, always in warm-toned washes like muted brownish denim
she also loves brown leather jackets, suede textures, and soft outerwear that feels worn-in but elegant
her style leans subtle, earthy and feminine
brown knee-high boots with soft suede textures or slouchy leather
vintage-inspired heeled boots, warm-toned and practical
dark flats or Mary Jane-style shoes for softer outfits
sandals with warm leather straps, especially when paired with long skirts
hair
long and usually tangled, soft waves with natural movement (like we all know)
half-up half-down styles that look effortlessly romantic, secured with claw clips, barrette-style clips, or small gold pins
messy buns that still look intentional, with a few strands framing her face and the bun sitting loosely
simple half-twists pinned back with gold or tortoise-shell clips
she likes different types of hair clips — gold ones, vintage-style clips, small gemstone accents, and simple brown claw clips
jewelry & accessories
she leans toward gold jewelry — warm-toned metals match her palette and her overall aesthetic
stacked necklaces: thin gold chains, small pendants, layered lengths
bracelets she wears daily: bangles, thin chains, and charm-style pieces that look collected over time
several rings, mostly gold, featuring stones in warm tones (garnet, amber, brown smoky quartz)
small earrings — gold hoops, warm-toned studs, and occasionally vintage-inspired dangling ones
warm brown or burgundy bags, often suede or soft leather
she prefers subtle, meaningful pieces over flashy ones — her jewelry looks curated, personal, and worn often
disclaimer: this is just my opinion and based upon vibes i’m not saying that this is how she would specifically dress in the books!
cloths
she gravitates toward soft neutral tones like washed grays, deep navies, charcoal blacks, soft browns, and the occasional warm cream
oversized sweaters with relaxed necklines, sleeves that run long.
plain long sleeves and simple tees in solid colors, usually tucked loosely or half-tucked
jeans in comfortable fits: flared with frayed hems, straight-leg with light distressing, soft washed denim
despite her large wardrobe, she rotates the same small set of outfits (her wardrobe is mostly filled with cloths she barely touched or has donated most to charity)
she occasionally wears denim or corduroy skirts with sheer patterned tights and layers a fitted vest over a collared shirt for a slightly preppy look
knit cardigans and worn leather jackets thrown over anything when she needs layering
she mixes jewelry into every outfit: thin rings, soft metallic accents, small necklaces
she always wears the infinity ring Jameson gave her
she has a specific necklace she never takes off— simple, personal, and layered with other delicate chains
she likes mixing silver and gold jewelry without worrying about matching
hair
loose braids that fall slightly uneven, soft and casual
messy buns with strands slipping out
quick ponytails tied mid-height or low, with a few face-framing pieces
natural, air-dried waves that give her hair a soft, tousled texture
half-up styles clipped with small matte claw clips, done more for convenience than style
jewelry & accessories
minimal jewelry with personal meaning: daily rings, delicate chains, simple earrings
mixed metals — silver and gold together in a subtle, layered way
small hoops, thin bangles, and stackable rings she barely notices she’s wearing
slouchy leather bags in black or deep brown
dark knit scarves, simple belts, understated hair ties or claw clips
I was simply SHOCKED when I saw this. Avery has always seemed insecure, about her appearance, about her personality, but she is simply WONDERFUL. I always thought it was kind of canonical that she was beautiful, because literally in all the other characters' POVs she is described as MAGNIFICENT (Grayson and Jameson's POVs always break my heart 😭), but now it's confirmed. I feel bad, because in TIG she says that after seeing Emily and Rebecca she understood why Jameson only saw her as a game, and that she didn't see anything beautiful in her. Anyway, Avery Kylie Grambs is beautiful and special inside and OUT (it's no wonder that TWO Hawthornes fell in love with her).
