i’m (maybe temporarily) moving daisy here because i don’t have time to handle too many blogs but i still want the variety and i miss her a lot. it will probably change in the future because i’ll miss her solo blog but still. it’ll do for now.

IT’S INSTINCT TO RELAX ; a surprisingly natural response to sink back into the gentle, soothing touch, as if the other woman’s fingers are enough to brush away some of the WEIGHT she’s been bearing for so long. It feels like years since someone last touched her without hostility, and it’s nice – she must’ve CRAVED it for the way her guard drops, body shifting to settle into the most comfortable position against her companion as she shovels another handful of cereal into her mouth.
She’ll let herself get FIXATED on the TV screen, still clutching the box she’s helped herself to eating from as if she owns the place – not that she’d dare call a place home. Over the years she’s come to understand that home is people, whether it’s a FAMILY like SHIELD or just one person who makes you feel safe. It’s their job to run head first into danger, to face death and PAIN in order to protect the world, but she still she wouldn’t trade this home for any other.

“ BANDAGES? ” Not that she’s intentionally being ungrateful, but she almost had her heart set on words like aspirin or morphine or HARD LIQUOR ; something that might numb the burning pain that seems to radiate from every cut and bruise. She’s not worried about patching them up -- the wounds will clot and heal on their own with enough time; she’d just rather not FEEL that process. It never gets easier. “ I was kinda hoping you were gonna say aspirin or tequila, but bandages are probably a good call. ”

Different rich white dude; different robot suit; exact same unfair advantage. ” She is well-practiced by now in masking PAIN with humour, but there’s an unmistakable BITTER note to her voice; the wounds are still raw, and she is still reeling from the loss of a friend and the vision given upon his death -- the prophecy of a future she knows she can’t escape: a SHIELD agent sacrificed in flames. It felt like FATE. Her fate. “ But at least I got to quake him in the face. ”

remember when he was nice to her for like 0.2 seconds telling her the world needs a hero like her to get home, but ruined it by closing with ‘just try not to destroy it again’ wow what romance such fondness wow as if she’s not punishing herself enough for what she hasn’t even done yet and would never do intentionally.
apologies for having a few days away. i’ve been working a lot and just straight up didn’t wanna be online when i was around so it’s been mostly lurking. the good news is i only lost one impatient mutual in my absence and the rest of you are wonderful, so thank you. gonna be hiding in drafts for a bit. if you wanna chat, i’m in the ims or you can ask for my discord.
