Before I pass out (itâs 2am :/), best moments from Queen II Remix Disc 2
As for the captions, Roger is red, Brian is blue, Freddie is white, and John (who speaks this time!) is orange. Black with white border is either Roy or I couldnât tell who was speaking.
This whole disc was delightful. But be advised of strong language
apropos of me getting into a fruitless argument with a âFreddie was bi, he said so in interviewsâ truther in a TikTok comment section:
Itâs so strange to me how no one does this with any other gay celebrity. Elton John originally came out as bisexual. He was engaged to a woman, then married to a different woman. And then he came out as gay and no one argues it. George Michael originally came out as bisexual, has been with women, then came out as gay and no one argues it. Itâs an extremely common experience for gay men, especially in a time when the world was not as welcoming.
But with Freddie everyone is âbut Maryâ âbut he said thisâ âbut he never labeled himself.â
Like. The facts are that he explicitly called himself gay in more interviews than in which he alluded to sleeping with women. He had a well-known terrible relationship with the press and seemingly wanted to maintain an air of mystique and likely felt they werenât entitled to exact details. Very fair. This doesnât change the fact that everyone close to him maintains that he only ever called himself gay privately, told people he wasnât bi, and many of them have corrected people who say otherwise (Brian, Crystal, Thor, etc.)
Itâs just weird to me how this âno he was bi because past relationships/commentsâ phenomenon seemingly exists only for Freddie. Itâs like people have blinders on
I love those descriptions so much but also lmao at that reverence about Roger and Brian on either side when for John it's basically like "he was there too" like

Guys what the fuck... I have a headache rn. Mary Austin alert
The personal archives of Freddie Mercury are set to be revealed in a new book by his close friend Mary Austin, who the Queen frontman left e
Freddie Mercury was one of the greatest showmen of the twentieth century. With his unparalleled voice and searing on-stage energy, he was a
Austin said: âIn early 2023, in the midst of cataloguing the contents of Garden Lodge, this wonderful home Freddie had left to me, I began to leaf through the papers my family and I had collected together from where they had lain, undisturbed and unseen, in the house for over 30 years.
âHere were the working drafts for Freddieâs lyrics, set down across loose sheets of paper and in simple, plain notebooks that entirely belied the wonders within.
âThis re-emergence of Freddieâs handwritten notes, offering a window into his brilliant, creative mind, stirred up many memories from decades passed, of conversations, occasions and emotions. Freddieâs songs continue to bring so much happiness, and solace, to so many.
âI hope that by sharing his manuscripts now, contextualised with fresh insights and a sprinkling of vignettes of our lives together, I will illuminate the remarkable creative force of my dear friend for the enjoyment of everyone he continues to delight and inspire, even after all these years.â
The book will also feature stories, memories and anecdotes from Austin, who was with Mercury from 1970 to 1976 before he informed her of his sexuality, ending their relationship, however she remained a lifelong friend.
A Life In Lyrics will be illustrated by images from Mercuryâs archive, some of which have never been seen before.
Published by HarperCollins, the book will be released in hardback, ebook and audiobook on September 1 2026, four days before the singer would have turned 80.
...Look we buy one for the team and yo ho ho the shit out of it that's all we need. Better yet:
I will never shut up about people calling Jim a gold digger for 30 years for writing about his experience watching the love of his life die of AIDS, but then this loser sold all of Freddie's stuff to the highest bidder without letting his loved ones take anything first (both in the 90s with Jim, Joe, and Phoebe and then in the 2020s with the band), and is monetizing off the drafts of lyrics she refused to give to Jim and the band. Why couldn't Freddie have had a normal ex-girlfriend for fuck's sake
Whoever my anon was who first called her "Mary Auction"...you're a legend
