-Over the years, I developed a habit of subconsciously reciting واللہ المستعان whenever I faced something that disturbed my peace. But I was never aware of the background story of such powerful word until only recently when I heard about it in a lecture by Noman Ali Khan on Surah Yousuf.

The word, Wallahul Musta’aan, as mentioned in the Quran, was said by Yaqoob A.S. when his sons came up with a false story of what happened to Yousuf A.S.. Yaqoob A.S. tried his best to find the truth but his sons teamed up to defend their heinous act and lies. Tired of the situation, Yaqoob A.S. asked Allah for Sabrun Jameel (beautiful patience) followed by Wallahul Mustaa’an. According to the commentators of the Quran, Wallahul Musta’an is used to call for Allah’s help when you find yourself in impossible situations, when people team up against you to defend their lies, when people accuse you of something false, when you have given your best and desperately waiting for desired results, when you feel you’re in a situation where there’s no way out. It’s literally saying to Allah that I have given my best and now I am taking a backseat, I want You to take charge of the driving seat and solve this matter with your Divine intervention. And patience automatically becomes beautiful when with all your heart, mind, and soul you leave the matter on Allah.

Sharing it with you all because I thought it might brighten someone’s day. Don’t worry if the situation seems impossible, remember you’re asking the One who just have to say ‘Kun’ and it is. You are asking the One who calls Himself, Al-Fattah. Who creates a way out when there seems to be no way. So take a backseat and let Allah do the rest. واللہ المستعان

A woman becomes a real force when she learns that Allah is enough for her. When she learns to be her own bestfriend. When she picks herself up on her own. When her focus is no longer on the little things but herself her deen, dunya, and akhirah. She works on her boundaries and understands that a masterpiece is still a masterpiece when the lights are off and the room is empty, without the applause of people.

The Virtuous Night of Eid - Laylatul Jaazah (The Night of Rewards)🌙

GET YOUR REWARDS ON THE BLESSED EID NIGHTS 🌙

Concerning the night that preceedes Eid ul Fitr: 🌙 In a Hadith RasūlAllāh صلى الله عليه وسلم said, ‘This night is referred to Laylatul Jaaizah (night of prize giving).’ Hence, this opportunity should be utilized fully to fulfil one’s material and spiritual needs.

There is no specific ibaadah (worship) to be performed in the night before Eid. One may engage in any form of ibaadat, salaah, zikr, dua, tilawaat, etc. It had been the practice of the Prophet, صلى الله عليه وسلم, that he would not sleep in the night preceding the day of Eid-ul-fitr. This night has been named in a Hadith as the Night of Reward (Lailatul Jaiza). Almighty bestows his rewards on those who have spent the month of Ramadan abiding by the dictates of Shari'ah, and all their prayers in this night are accepted. Therefore, it is desirable to perform nafl prayers in this night.

The Prophet, صلى الله عليه وسلم is reported to have said: Whoever stands up (in worship) in the nights preceding the two Eids expecting rewards from his Lord, his heart will not die when the other hearts will die. (Ibn Majah) To benefit from this opportunity, one should perform as much worship in this night as he can, and should pray for all his needs and desires.🌙

Then, in the early morning of Eid-ul-Fitr Allah سبحانه و تعالى will send His angels forth to visit all the towns and cities on the earth below. Once they have made their descent, they will position themselves at the entrances to all the streets and alleys. There, in a voice that is audible to every being created by Allah سبحانه و تعالى, apart from the jinn and humankind, they will issue a proclamation saying, “O Community of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم, come forth into the presence of a Noble and Generous Lord, who will grant you gifts in abundance and forgive your terrible sin!”🌙

Then when the believers have emerged and presented themselves at their place of prayer, Allah سبحانه و تعالى will say to His angels, “O My angels, what is the recompense of the hired labourer, once he has done his job?” The angels will reply, “Our Lord and our Master, You will pay him his wages in full!” So Allah سبحانه و تعالى will say, “I now call upon you to bear witness, O My angels, that I have conferred My acceptance and My forgiveness as the reward for their fasting and night vigil during the month of Ramadaan.” 🌙 . . Allah سبحانه و تعالى will then say, “O My servants put your requests to Me now, for this I swear by My Might and My Majesty, you will not ask Me this day, in this gathering of yours for anything connected with your life hereafter, without My granting it to you; nor for anything connected with your life in this lower world, without My attending to your need.

By My Might and My Majesty, I will not put you to shame, nor will I expose you to disgrace amongst those who are faithfully committed to observing the laws (of Shariah). Now you may depart, knowing that you have been forgiven. You have won My approval, and I am well pleased with you.”🌙 [Ghunyalit Taalibi Tareeqal Haq, Vol. 3]

Subhan'Allah! How Merciful is our Rabb, even though we are such wretched sinners all for the sake of RasūlAllāh صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم He ﷻ is so Merciful to us. Truly we all are nothing without RasūlAllāh صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم 💚

Laylatul Jaiza: The Often-Overlooked Night of Spiritual Recompense

Amid the predominant preoccupations with henna application, festive shopping and other preparations for Eid, a significant spiritual opportunity frequently escapes communal attention: Laylatul Jaiza, or the Night of Reward. Conceptually, it may be regarded as a divine “payday” occurring at the conclusion of Ramadan, when, according to Islamic tradition, Allah (SWT) bestows recompense upon those who have observed fasting and devotion throughout the month..

Distinctive Significance:

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) is reported to have stated that the heart of an individual who engages in worship during the nights preceding the two Eids will remain steadfast on a Day when other hearts succumb (Sunan Ibn Majah)..

Moreover, this night is traditionally classified among the five occasions on which supplication (dua) is especially likely to be accepted..

Recommended Observances:

Although no prescribed ritual termed “Salat ul-Jaiza” exists, several voluntary acts are advocated for those wishing to benefit from its blessings:

Nafl prayers: Devote a portion of the night to qiyam (optional prayer). Even two or four rak‘ahs may hold considerable value..

Istighfar: Seek forgiveness for any shortcomings incurred during Ramadan..

Supplication: Prioritise earnest dua for deeply held aspirations, avoiding distraction by Eid festivities..

Shukr (gratitude): Express thanks to Allah for granting the capacity to complete the month’s fasts..

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

*Golden principles of guidance drawn from the story of the Companions of the Cave (Aṣḥāb al-Kahf)*

1. *Protecting faith is the highest priority*

The youths abandoned rank, society, and comfort rather than compromise belief.

_Faith outweighs any material good, so sacrificing comfort, money, or status for it isn’t a loss—it’s an investment that endures._

- Reflection: _When did I last choose obedience over convenience?_

2. *Truth doesn’t depend on numbers*

They were only a handful, yet Allah declared them successful. Majority isn’t the measure; sincerity is. Their inner pureness and determined effort to guard that purity set them apart, not headcount.

3. *Faith anchored in youth is deeply valuable*

The Qur’an highlights their _fityah_ (young age) to show that gripping faith early steers one’s entire life—habits, marriage, work, old-age regrets. Youthful commitment becomes lifelong orientation.

4. *Migrate toward Allah when trial overwhelms*

Leaving their city was worship because they preserved din. Migration today may mean swapping toxic friends, quitting haram income, or restructuring daily habits—any _hijrah_ that protects conviction.

5. *Begin with du‘ā—the believer’s protocol*

“Rabbanā ātinā min ladunka raḥmatan…” they prayed before acting, signaling reliance. Asking first turns planning into worship, and mercy re-routes outcomes we think are impossible.

6. *Using means complements trust, it doesn’t cancel it*

Choosing a cave, posting a lookout, planning—these are asbāb. Tawakkul kicks in after concrete steps: do what’s reasonable, then accept the result. Allah elevates whoever empties himself for His sake.

7. *Allah’s protection can work through minimal resources*

A bare cave, a sleeping dog, shifted sunlight, turned bodies—tiny details loaded with divine care. When Allah guards, grand security systems aren’t required; His raḥmah suffices.

8. *Time and results belong to Allah*

They guessed they’d slept a day; it was centuries. Delay isn’t denial. What feels late often carries hidden wisdom; tasks entrusted to Allah never go to waste.

9. *Righteous companionship sustains faith*

None fled alone; they strengthened each other. After waking, they avoided speculative disputes (“how long?”) and delegated judgment to Allah—showing group support plus reluctance to waste energy on unproductive argument.

10. *Worldly powers fade; truthful stands remain*

The tyranny they escaped vanished, yet their Qur’anic mention stays. Standing firm may carry temporary costs, but it yields permanent success because Allah immortalizes sincerity.

11. *Avoid unnecessary debate—the Qur’anic method*

Numbers of sleepers, their names, dog’s color—deliberately omitted. Core lessons matter more than trivia. We too should chase hidayah (guidance) rather than collect facts.

12. *Allah can appoint anyone as a sign for later generations*

Their single sincere migration became evidence for resurrection and a roadmap for believers. One honest step for Allah can ripple into timeless guidance for others.

There’s something so peaceful about Ramadan. It is important to forgive and forget. Let go of all your grudges and remember that this month is a special month between you and Your Lord. So put down the distractions and take that first step to becoming a better Muslim and a better person.
