ok i'm having plantcest thoughts. i know very little about idol culture but bear with me here

i have seen idol vash AUs where knives is a possessive manager/stalker fan/etc. but what about idol duo vash/knives.

knives has a stage persona that's quiet and mature, but with a shy side. vash's stage persona is loud and flirty and a bit childish. they're extremely popular, with thousands of thousands of fans, known for elaborate choreographies that are just a bit too touchy for blood-related twin idols.

the fandom around them is split by discourse. some ppl claim it's only a brotherly relationship, some claim that they're clearly fucking, and others still get mad that any speculation is happening at all.

knives keeps up with all these various threads and posts, for his own amusement. he likes to mention quotes that say they have "zero romantic energy" to vash while they make out in their dressing room, just to watch vash blush bright red and sputter about how they have to be on stage in 5.

first real post uhm spreading the nonbinary boything transmasc jinxie tenma agenda (+nonbinary trans man simon). i'm using they/them for jinxie here.

they don't have any trouble with coming out to damian, he's a very accepting father and would do everything to make jinxie comfortable and happy. it's outside of the village where the issues start.

jinxie presents in a fairly androgynous way, masculinity never mattered in their (very sheltered) life, and they're bit nervous of taking that step anyways. but post 5-2, they're traveling to more places (mostly with trucy), and more often being misgendered and put into scary situations.

it's upsetting, almost enough to make jinxie want to never venture outside again. but they find solace in someone they never really expected too. simon.

he catches the aftermath of some asshole's transphobia once, jinxie fighting tears in a secluded area. and though his attempts at consoling them are awkward at best, the effort is appreciated. and suddenly jinxie has a 6'2 body guard.

they aren't scared of simon, they never were, but they go from a neutral understanding to a shy admiration. it's a mix of gender envy and attraction, and spending time together talking about gender and expression and yokai, both feeling only grow.

jinxie wants to be more comfortable in their masculinity now. not because of the transphobia, but bc they want to emulate the kind of masculinity simon has.
