In another life, “pocket monsters” would’ve been the name of a very popular chain of sex toy stores, or perhaps a brand of novelty pocket squares
Top: in the box art of Super Smash Bros., Mario seems to just be jumping towards Pikachu in an action pose.
Middle: however, zooming in extremely closely on the space between his ear and his right hand (viewer's left) shows that there is some object behind him.
Bottom: as it turns out, the original version of this artwork that was reconfigured for use in the box art showed that Mario is in fact holding a Star Rod (and attacking Fox instead of Pikachu).
As such, Mario has been holding a Star Rod in the box art all along with only a tiny sliver of it being visible.

I bet you anything they added Pikachu to the box art (complete with extra focus) last minute after Pokémania started to hit

What's your personal interpretation of what Subspace is? The location, not Subspace Emissary
Hardest question I'll ever answer probably, Subspace is WEIRD. And it's honestly bc of just... how varied it actually is.
Adding onto this, Tabuu’s wings and “shark” form both have the texture of a circuit board with visible computer chips. It’s a little hard to make out on the wings, but you can see it on the “shark” very clearly:
Combined with it being a literal tear in reality, I think you could read Subspace as a representative as the gaming console itself. Maybe not necessarily the actual Wii you’re playing Brawl on (or PC w/ emulator lmao), but more like, an amalgamation of the console(s) that these characters all come from.
Brawl came out in 2008, less than a year after Nintendo stopped doing official ship in repairs for Famicoms. The OG gaming consoles most Smash characters originate from were all pushing twenty by 2008, even the N64 just hit double digits. It doesn’t escape me that the locations that get subspace bombed are typically associated with NES/Famicom characters like Marth and ROB. What happens when consoles get older? They malfunction, break down, stop working. They die. That’s what Subspace is, a literal representative of all Nintendo’s (and Sega’s I guess lmao) consoles and games deteriorating with age. You can see this idea all over Brawl, even outside of Subspace; there’s the infamous barren World 1-1 stage, everyone’s got grittier “well worn” textures, battle damage was even a scrapped concept. Tabuu is an agent of everything falling apart, a “butterfly effect” if you will.
But then he gets his spindly ass kicked by Sonic so idk

I’m bored; give me any random video game character and I’ll rank how much I do/don’t want them in smash bros
Played a random only match against a friend. Looser had to draw the winner
I love whatever Rob has going on

Do you like Fox’s new redesign?
Yes
No
Indifferent
Genuinely surprised by the amount of people saying yes, I think this design looks awful. He looks like if Rocket Raccoon got taxidermied
