This is a hard question hahaha but I'll go for "The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke's Mansion". I always reread that manhwa whenever I'm having a bad day.

This manhwa just went from a cute romance to the most depressing, tragic, heartbreaking, angst love story. The title makes sense now, and I should've already known that an immortal loving a mortal will always have one ending, but I took the bait anyways and ended up hurting myself.😭

And my heart aches for every character of this story.

Elleanor (Witch)— because no matter how much she try to kill herself she knows very well that she would never be able to. And she would have to suffer the loss of the person she loves not just for a lifetime, but for all of eternity.😭

Kaidel (Human)— because I know how much he truly loves Ellen, but time wouldn't allow them to be together forever. He knows that one day, he would have to leave her alone.

Noah (Vampire)— I once hated him, but he's actually the most tragic among all of the characters. He already knows what it feels like to lost someone dear to him, because he too once lost the woman he loves. He knows what Ellen felt, when you couldn't even do anything but to live with the pain because it's your fate to never die. It was also the same reason, why he put himself to sleep just like what Ellen did to herself. But then, he opened his heart to her once again. For he thought that they were alike, that no one would be able to understand them but themselves. But Ellen never loved him back, even after the death of Kaidel. And eventhough it would be him who would stay by Ellen's side forever. He knew from the very beginning that it wasn't him whom Ellen wanted. His love would forever remain unrequited. It's like conquering a kingdom but losing the crown.

In order to see her smile again, Noah disguised himself as Kaidel. And Ellen also knew that it wasn't Kaidel but her longing for him blurred out all those reality.

And since they can't die, they would both live a life of suffering for all of eternity. Ellen, who would forever fool herself that her beloved is still right beside her. And Noah, who would be able to stay beside the woman he loves while wearing another man's face and while enduring his unrequited love.

Immortality isn't a gift, it's a curse!

I still can't get over from the fact that the alternate name for "The Case Study of Vanitas" is "The Memoir of Vanitas", and Nòe is the author of that memoir. That means...the events in the manga already happened and what we're currently reading is the past that he reminisce while writing the memoir. And in the present time, Vanitas is no longer alive.

So, I saw this spoiler at the Novel Forum and found out that Lysia really did love Lawrence. This made me elated since I really ship them although Lawrence is a jerk. I was really hoping for him to change and have his own happy ending with Lysia. But then, it turns out that he had a toxic obsession towards her, and in end Lysia killed him. I honestly wanted him to live and see him change, but it seems that no can change him anymore. And with all of the wrong doings he did, I think he deserved the end that he got.

This story portrays that sometimes being overprotective towards your child is toxic. No matter how you want the best for them, you should never forget to consider their feelings. This is the root cause why some would rebel against their own parents. Sometimes, being too protective suffocates them.
