The key to writing good fanfiction is to harbor a deeply humiliating desire, and the trick there is that even pretty basic and societally-accepted desires like “being held” and “being wanted” CAN and WILL be humiliating if they’re intense enough. Become so estranged from human connection that the idea of someone playing with your hair fills you with yearning so deep you feel like you’re going to throw up and you will write some banger fanfiction. It might have some other consequences too but idrk about that.

I think being able to control my damn environment would do wonders for my well being, tbh

I keep meaning to study for CompTIA+ and/or security or something like that, but work has my brain too damned fried to do anything. When I took my med leave, literally everyone else in my department was either transferred out or quit. All the training of the newbies has been put onto me because apparently my supervisor just not wanting to do it is reason enough to put it all on me. And I don't even get paid extra for it!

I came back from leave for surgery back in May, spent one last week with TweedleDumDum, where I spent about half my time apologizing to customers and fixing her mistakes that she would quite literally run away from so she wouldn't have to deal, ran the shop solo for a week when my supervisor was on vacation, then the two of us ran the shop for over a month (a task which should have at least 6 people), and now I've had to babysit every single fucken shift.

Oh, not to mention, I'm sweaty and gross the whole time because the door fan that's supposed to buffer against the weather has been broken since early last winter. All we got to cool down is a box fan. It helps, but in addition to the ambient heat, we got an oven and other equipment heating up our little kiosk. While we're like less than 10 feet from the open air entrance. In the summer.
