What people get wrong about politics in House of the Dragon
One thing about House of the Dragon that I think is super interesting is how the fans and creators view the politics.
I saw some interviews and Emma and Sonoya were both talking about how Rhaenyra is becoming “facist”. Like it’s a surprise? And the fans as well talking about how Rhaenyra is treating people who disagree with her badly.
I think we need to remember that Westeros is by definition an absolute monarchy, and has many hallmarks of fascism (although i’m not sure it fits the full definition because there isn’t really nationalism). All the claimants to the throne are aiming to rule as dictators. This isn’t about good vs evil, it’s about two agendas with very similar politics.
It’s an internecine struggle within a dictatorial dynasty.

Like they are a great character and I love them but be so for real
They have watered down Baela so much, she was supposed to be a mini Daemon. A menace. An amazing and fearless rider.
