I honestly do no know how you can live with yourself? I mean what happened that has turned you into such a spiteful hateful creature? Can you even admit that everyone believes in something? A simple undeniable fact that the belief that there is no God is still a belief and you would worship your Earthly pleasures as you would a God anyway? You follow idols and there is no way to deny that fact. Or do you think yourself so mighty to be an idol in yourself? How do you live like that? Without hope?

2: I live in the religious Deep South. I've seen what religion does to my fellow queers; people getting assaulted, disowned, sent to gay camps, having their own families turn against them. I've watched most of my female friends from high school throw away their chances at a career or anything they want in life because god wants them barefoot and pregnant in a kitchen. Rape victims get their rapes picked apart, domestic abuse victims are told to "pray about it," churches sow hatred of Muslims and people from the middle East, religious leaders use their religion to shamelessly promote political beliefs... What are the native gods of my state? Who was worshiped before Christ? I'll never know, because those people were destroyed long ago, again by these religious people.

Am I spiteful and hateful? Fuck yes, I am, because I'm a human fucking being. I want my own rights, and I want equality for others. I have empathy, and I can look at those who are suffering and feel compassion for them. 

I like how you assume that simply because I am an atheist means that my motives are hedonistic. I mean, it couldn't possibly be from the realization of the evils of organized religion, or from logical reasons, or whatever. 

What I want to know is how YOU can live with yourself. 300 years ago, your religion would have tortured me to death for being gay. Are you okay with this? Are you okay with the centuries of enforced sexism, homophobia, racism, and violence?
