My bitch turned 16 lmao… wtf I was most likely 15 when I started this..

time to sacrifice again
This is just….just….THEYRE SICK
So I just started reading ACOTAR - currently on the 5th one, and I have to say, I almost didn’t continue pass the second because of the discourse. I don’t think I’ve ever truly hated a character aside from the obvious villains aka Amarantha/Hybern, but I had seen spoilers and discourse of certain parts of the book that when I got there I was like 🤨???
The one I see a lot in the Tamlin vs Rhysand thing about Feyre is the “Feyre threw a tantrum about not getting trained when look she didn’t even fight in the war!!” And to that I have to say, they both inherently told Feyre that she wouldn’t be fully ready to actually fight in the war BUT the difference is Tamlin said it would take close to 5years for her to be ready and it’s just not worth it. + he didn’t want to raise alarm with the people on how it would look that she wouldn’t start training physically and her powers.
Rhys and co went the route of you probably won’t be to full capacity to fight but it’s best you have some knowledge of your powers as well as hand to hand combat that you could do /something/.
One shot her down completely because it could be “too dangerous” of a signal, especially post UTM, and the other one was like could be dangerous but best you have some hang on your powers AND your new found strength.
You could make arguments that Rhys pulled a reverse psychology on her to that she herself was like “mmm I’m not ready to fight” but he for the most part allowed things to be her choice.
People want to argue about the bargain that they made UTM. While yes, it was a sus how he got her to accept the bargain 1. That man is 530+ years old, grew up with certain methods & when you’re on a last ditch effort to hope that this human is the key to set everyone free, he gonna make sure she agrees to said bargain. 2. It was agreed that she would spend a week a month for an undisclosed amount of time with him at the night court - her asking to be taken home the first time is literally a no can do babes, the week JUST started.
People want to talk about how sad it is that she had a kid so soon and wish she would’ve done more. And I get that, especially when she has so much power, there’s so much potential for her to do great things other than being a mom. BUT I do think it was kind of written in the way that some women talk about finding the right man, the “when you find the right man it’ll change your mind about marriage, and suddenly you’ll want to give him kids” type shit.
I don’t fully believe Tamlin is some evil bad guy, I just don’t think he was the one for Feyre. I think because he needed someone to break Amarantha’s curse, he kinda was hoping for a happily ever after with Feyre but it just wasn’t gonna work out. I feel like Tamlin does have some anger issues and when it came to each other, they had poor communication and conflict resolution.
I’m not done with the series but these are just my general thoughts..

“it’s okay to disagree” is for things like “i like chocolate and you like vanilla” not for whether or not people deserve fundamental human rights, what the fuck
