The thing about it is that Taylor Swift the artist chose to devote her entire life to making the most relatable, approachable, and personal art possible and in doing so sacrificed all normalcy, privacy, and has had to embrace being the most talked about and debated and scrutinized woman in the world. That is a life long commitment to an existence that, while absolutely privileged and luxurious, is also completely anathema to normal human development and emotional stability. That is a sacrifice she has continued to make in order to bring the whole of herself to her art. It's fascinating and generous and insane and honestly no one should ever have a billion dollars but if we're going to reward effort and value added with capital gain there's an argument to be made that she has earned it. In fact the price she's paid, her literal human life, feels priceless.
