So, in case it wasn’t apparent, I am currently writing and illustrating my comic Hellbent on Love. The first chapter is complete and up on Webtoon for anyone to read. I also have a little event running until the 28th February. The details are on the most recent update.

Things aren’t okay on the Shouty front.
My fiancé and I are on a break. I don’t know for how long. 2020 really has been close to an impossible year. Sorry for no art currently. Hopefully it changes soon.

So uh personal update . . .
This year has probably been on of the darkest of my life. I’m getting the help that I need to get better. That’s one of the reasons I am gone for long periods at a time, as I’m working on myself. Although this year has been so dark, it’s also had its moments of clarity. I’m finding out more about myself and I’m trying to live more authentically to my true self.
My therapist has been analyzing the art I’ve been creating while seeing them. There has been a shift, and they say it speaks a lot about me. Never did I think my art was that deep. I have a series of illustrations I completed and I am so proud of them, and the subconscious message/tone within them. My lighting is poor currently but I’ll have posts soon I hope. I still have a ways to go, but I’m doing what I can.

Quarantine Brain and Art
I was planning on posting today, I got the piece finished last night. However, after completing it I saw all the imperfections it had. The anatomy was wack, but the concept is there. This whole quarantine thing has been taking its toll on me since it started. I’ll hopefully redo the piece soon to where it is much better as I’m in love with the idea. I was looking forward to sharing it, but this just shows that even with 8+ years of practice and experience you’ll have bad days. Also hopefully content for mermay will go up before May is over.

Having an artist friend is a blessing . . .
Literally nothing is better than being like “I want to do this concept, but I’ll have to draw 3 HANDS!”
Only to be followed with “ugh hands are the worst”. Also the assurance and support is great, and having the hype and helpful observations. Hopefully you have an artist friend you can rant about how much a pain drawing hands and outfits is.

I hate keeping secrets that are exciting!
I’m working on a secret personal project right now that really won’t be going anywhere until my masters program is over. So it won’t be going on until next year, but I’m doing some concept/passion work for it and I hate keeping it secret.
It won’t be a secret for the rest of this year, I want to spark some excitement and interest soon. Just not right now. Everyone will get to know about it very soon, within the coming months!!! Please don’t hate me!
