Sims 4

I started playing a kind of rotational game with premades in the Sims 4. It's actually a lot of fun but the game is clearly not designed for rotational play. I populated some townies using gallery premades from TS2 (and TS1!) which was awesome right up until John Burb turned out not to be married to Jennifer and they both married other people. I love strange_tomato's premades in TS4. Tempted to post some pictures but I'm 2 rotations in before even thinking of screenshots so there are about a billion babies. Also it's not TS2.

Nina: “I don’t know what’s worse, the obvious fake imposter that is my mother, or that Donald would even dare to touch her. He knows how I feel about losing her, he watched me as I struggled to come to terms with her death. He may be a womanizer, but that does not make him crude. In fact, he can be quite the gentleman when he wants to be!”

Don: “Ew, ew, ew, ew, ew. No offense, but EW. I’ll take Nina any day, but this Katrina AND Dina? Hah no. Mortimer would kill me…in my sleep. And where the fudge is Mr Caliente in all of this? Huh? He would be the worst in all of this, because he would use his creepy alien mind voodoo on me for even daring to look at his wife! Okay, slight exaggeration, he wouldn’t hurt a fly, but still!”

Dina: “Hello, grandfather? This is Dina, you know, your granddaughter? I could really do with an alien abduction of the TS4 producers right about now. I don’t care what you do with them afterwards. Heck, you can even dump them in Strangetown with no memory of who they are. Thanks lots and hope your pollinating is going well!”

Nighat: “Was my Arabic and Egyptian roots too exotic to come to terms with? How rude!”

Flamenco: “…I do not know what to say, since I am strangely absent from all of this.”

My computer is completely broken and won't run the Sims 2 or the Sims 3 properly. Boo. This is part of why I haven't posted for a few weeks (also work, ugh.)

On the plus side, I am currently ordering a new computer (which will be greater/faster/stronger) and hopefully it means I can get back to playing soon!

Also maybe that means I can start over again with my megauberhood and actually do it with some kind of sense this time instead of just messing around!

Interiors of Cactus Cafe. Buy some coffee, hang out by the fish fountain, listen to (or perform!) some terrible beat poetry, study in the study nook or play some poker.

And also use the bathroom, I guess. 

There's a barbecue and some chess tables outside if you like to do other things while you drink coffee.

I think the main issue with Maxis' decorative style is that often they don't use enough of some things, eg plants. I realise that this is possibly not a fault in a desert setting, but it looks so much prettier!

For some reason I decided that a Morroccan theme was appropriate for a cactus referencing coffee place.

The pool is based on one of the first hits if you google "Morroccan Architecture". It's not perfect but I feel it works. Otherwise it was a big empty space.

Cactus Cafe makeover - floorplans.

The first image is premakeover, the second is post...unfortunately I didn't take a floorplan image that showed the inside of the cafe!

I have an extra image of some more WTF from EA. This is the only corner where they decided to add an extra bit of fence. WHY.

I put the University students into uni and play them just before I'm about to play their main town, if that makes sense. I can't think of a way not to make the aging all janky otherwise.

Tank Grunt, of course, has great taste in Transition clothing. It suits him to a T. He's living in a tiny dorm with Stella Terrano, and I was counting on them simply ignoring each other, which they've done so far.

Stella is a great student and autonomously studies. Tank also wants to do well at university and autonomously plays chess. He's a total babe though.

I didn't play a full year with them because I started wanting to get into making over some community lots...

Hello anon!

Somewhat organised? I have a lot of folders and subfolders, and they fit in general categories (bodyshop/building/hacks/posing tools). But then I have some painting recolours in the bodyshop section because Skell made them and some hair in the building section because Poppet made it. I’d be better off sorting by creator really.

I have about 40,000 files which is 8GB. I should cut it back but it doesn’t take too long to load and honestly with the little free time I’ve had recently I focus more on playing than cc culling.

I mostly loaded the Summerdream household to try to repair Titania and Oberon's relationship. It hasn't worked...yet, although I have turned off jealousy for them. They are still not married.

Remember Cyd Roseland's first kiss rejection? Clearly Titania didn't mean it seriously, because she and Cyd were pretty all over each other in the spa.

Ignored Bottom grows up into a gorgeous teenager, who also rolls Family (ugh). She has great facial expressions though.

Oberon earns some money so I might be able to actually make over their terribly designed house!

Look, essentially I think that the Capp family thinks that family is very important.

Regan comes over for a visit with Goneril while all the kids are in bed. They're still pretty close despite not seeing each other much. Regan calls most days to check in on Goneril, and Goneril has been providing some advice now that little Edmund is born.

Albany gets another promotion (this is probably one time I've pushed a Family sim to getting promoted, because they really need to find a bigger place!)

I really need to figure out the succession order of this family...

In this post, you get to see me furnishing the house little bit by little bit as they earn a bit of money.

Hal studies at the little set of four IKEA desks. 

Desdemona wants to be just like her big sister and be an artist someday! She also makes sure not to ignore little Ariel. The siblings all get along really nicely, actually.

Albany keeps in touch with his nephew, Tybalt and lectures him on the importance of choosing a major.  Albany can see Tybalt will be treated worse in the Capp inheritance than even Goneril.

Miranda still has a want to fall in love with David Ottomas, so she invites him over. He brings his younger sister Sharla, who gets on quite well with Hal. Miranda still manages to get her first kiss with David (aww).

Goneril gets a promotion, so they end up getting a couch and a television!

Gratuitous shot of the kids all studying in a row, and then Hal dancing in the way of Miranda and Albany watching TV. Such is life in a big family!

Trying to make over the Tri-Fruhm sorority and just had a proper look at it.

so anyway I grew up in a family of five children and if I was to recreate that in the Sims 4 I'd have to futz around with the ages even more than before and that is very disappointing.

At least when I recreate it now I can have toddler/child/teen/teen/adult and that vaguely fits the ages, despite the two teenagers not being twins. (Will we be able to make babies in CAS?) Now I'd have to go baby (so wrong)/child/teen/young adult/adult or something...

Yes okay this does upset me because the difference between IRL babies and IRL toddlers is that babies basically lie there and goo and toddlers are actually little people.

On to Goneril's branch of the gigantic Capp family! Obviously the little toddler has already grown up. They live in a tiny apartment as they didn't have enough money to both buy and furnish a house (seriously Maxis WTF).

Miranda (an especially tame Romance sim) has a want to fall in love with David Ottomas. I can see it, two eldest children from big families, falling in love and being generally cute.

Hal grows up into an amazing transition outfit. AMAZING. (I think this was right after I downloaded Meetme's collection for castaway stories but it's great). He rolls family, which probably isn't surprising in one the size he currently lives in!

Ground floor shot to show how tiny the apartment is (and also all of this family are obsessed with skilling, which is good for their chances at college).

Apparently Albany feels his house is NOT FULL ENOUGH (Goneril rolled this want too, seriously, wtf. Have a horrible upstairs shot to illustrate there is literally NOWHERE for a roommate to go.) Their FOUR children share a bedroom, and there is an extra bathtub in the main bedroom. It is utterly ridiculous.

They can't even all eat at the same time, because there isn't enough space for a big enough table.
