#trying to get my hands on a dictionary for the written part of my entrance exam #and I'd prefer one that is complete in both directions #as for the tutor I have given up on it #I shall rawdog this like I have always done with language learning #only tangentially related but at a book cart I met a guy with voice so pleasant and beautiful I was in awe #on my way home I was seriously considering going back just to tell him how beautiful his voice is #one thing that this profession does to you is you start appreciating people's voices more than ever

From time to time I realise that even the nicest landlords are leeches because he was all like "nooo the AC doesn't need cleaning I washed it a few years back and also I don't think it has to be cleaned as often as people say" lo and behold, I called a cleaner for it and it was FULL of black mould 💀

#I have a bunch of chronic lung issues so I wasn't gonna risk it but I didn't think it'd be this bad fhskfjlsjf #no wonder we have mould popping up here and there despite the fact that I do everything to keep humidity low #man...#and it cost 23k so he better pay for it

Thinking about my Indian friend who ate lángos like one eats naan, tearing off pieces and dipping it into the sour cream and cheese loaded on top... Genius idea, actually

The fact that both Hungarian and Romanian (the two languages I grew up hearing everywhere) have very tight pronunciation doesn't really help when I'm trying to prepare for an exam in these tongue-twisters of languages

#English and Russian are both so loose it's driving me nuts #at least in English I've been fluent for a good while now so even if I do have a noticeable accent I can still speak #without stumbling on the words #sorry for the constant language-posting these days #it's going to happen again #and again #until the first of June (my graduation exam)#then my entrance exam for postgrad is in mid June or so #but that's a little more chill #I'm sooooo tired #sorry for everyone I'm not replying to #I will ‼️ I've just been working and studying all the time

#I find it funny that forint prices skyrocketed so much that it has a noticeable effect on the life of the humble transgenders of Hungary #the downside of it is that the social support money I get from Romania doesn't really cover my rent anymore #300 lei used to be 22k+ forints!!! it's 19k now #not that my rent is 22k that was just an example #do you guys think they'll actually remove the anti-trans legislation?#I would really like to change my name #but I don't really think trans people are anywhere near the top of their list of priorities (if we're on the list at all)#but one can always dream <3

im just so happy i live in a time period where actual meaningful biological transition is possible. even if we lose rights or the ability to exist in public, nothing can turn back the clock on that, and just by having any sort of access to that our lives are made immensely better. millions of our sisters throughout history would never have dreamed of a day where they could have what HRT does for us.

please don't lose the plot of this. if you're a trans person on HRT you're a living miracle, the dream of hundreds of millions of your ancestors. your lives are all deeply meaningful no matter what anyone says.

Just sent my application for the EMCI postgrad course and the PhD topics page on the website is tempting me like a freshly baked cherry pie.......

#one of my favourite professors has a topic option that could reasonably fit my research idea #the research idea is #rokonnyelvek okozta interferencia kiküszöbölésének módszerei a tolmácsképzésben #I have really unpleasant interference between Russian and Romanian despite them not even being technically related #so I thought it'd be interesting :D #the application period is over anyway and also I would most likely regret it with how burnt out I am but stilllll

If anyone was looking for a very quick and effective way of killing every last bit of brain capacity you have, I sincerely recommend doing just about 8 minutes of simultaneous shadowing in your fourth language

#if this means nothing to you don't worry about it #I'm in interpreting hell #I need to speak Russian faster because I keep running out of time during consecutive interpreting #so of course I'm doing shadowing #oh my fucking godddddd #never before done anything this frustrating and mentally exhausting #delete later #edit: an hour and a half of shadowing and I'm ready to die
