Addressed to You 043012 - Her spark is back

after sending the message to yachi, yn sets the phone down and picks up the thermometer, checking her temperature again. 37.7°C. just a slight fever, but a migraine’s been tormenting her since last night. she tilts the instrument, looking at herself reflected in its dim screen. weary and disheveled.
finally, she sets it down on her desk and crawls back over to the bed again. even with her fever, the apartment felt too warm, and she takes a sip of the cooled chamomile tea on her nightstand from last night. she’d been working late on a study of soft graphite figures. the outlines are purposefully blurred with her thumb... but the faces also, refusing to come together.
continuing to work, yn finds her gaze drifting over to the drawer where she kept his letters.
they had stopped coming. it had been nearly three weeks now. she told herself she wasn’t waiting, but the ritual persisted. even today, when she’d been too tired to leave the apartment, she’d found herself glancing toward the door each time the hallway creaked.
she lies her head down on the desk.
when her eyes fluttered open again, the light had turned golden, catching on the edges of her hair and the glass of the picture frame she kept turned face-down. for a moment, the whole room looked like a painting she hadn’t finished. something lovely, almost alive, waiting for someone to return to it.
yn comes home from her soup date with yachi, cheeks still sore from so much laughing, stomach full, and mind half-asleep. checking the mailbox doesn’t even occur to her as she’s busy stumbling her way up to her apartment.
when she opens the mailbox the next day, it’s a bit… anticlimatic. the same steady handwriting, red rose letter paper. she stands there for a moment, then laughs to herself. because of course it comes now, when she’s finally stopped waiting.
does each chapters layout just get uglier than the last.

YAP YAP YAP... in the written part i wanted to capture kind of an awakening, when you feel like a strong longing to return to doing the things you once loved. and also how sometimes it’s not always “life” (i.e. work, school) but your emotions and energy, which are so easily affected by people and how you’re treating yourself. snap out of it!!
