A thought I had while watching Sonic 2, and some Scratches

Hc:

Scratch takes out and put in his eyes like you would with contacts in order to recalibrate them.

The lines on his neck are actually just outer-casings. It's like the robot equivalent of a turtleneck.

Which implies he has an endo skeleton. He does, but it's not much. Very bare bones. Like the endoskeleton of an actual 90s chuckecheese robot, but durable enough to survive cartoon slapstick.

He don't have like a second row of teeth or anything, but if his voice box for example, needed fixing and had to detach his beak, It'd be pretty freaky to just see his artificial tongue just lull to the side of the metal plates that move his jaw. Have that vision in your head.

Hey, have you realised that nobody named Grounder? When Robotnik lifts Scratch off the machine he says " your name is Scratch" but doesnt name grounder i dont think.

I never did notice that 'til you pointed it out. We just. Suddenly start seeing Grounder named as such. I think Robotnik still did the naming, but its a neat thought to realize if Scratch hadn't futz with the machine, Scratch would have had a different ally who looked exactly like him and a similar naming convention.

I really love how they had grounder imitate scratch's laugh, what do you think?

I think its the fact Scratch's laugh is the one that he hears the most often! You hear how some people laugh and you like it, but unlike humans who have their own unique ways of laughing, for the Badniks it's something that was more learned than programmed. Usually the Badnik's laughs came from Robotnik, but their programming and designs would influence it further. Scratch's laugh is similar to Dr. Robotnik's, but Scratch is a chicken so of course it sounds like the cawing of a rooster. And Grounder is imitating the laugh of Dr. Robotnik through Scratch's own laugh. I think Scratch notices this but never says anything about it, and I don't think Grounder expects him to.
