A hard reminder about Grimes (and it's out in the open on her Wikipedia page, mind you):
More info:
(Lmao "MAGA" next to "weirdos and freaks"... I've never seen a bigger oxymoron 🤣)

Claire- I cannot express in words how much you and your art used to matter to me...
Perhaps we should all agree that her willingly hooking up with the guy who is now the world's richest Nazi was somewhat of a warning?
"Oh, but just bc a woman dates a problematic to the point where's it's suspicious guy doesn't mean she herself is problematic!" Oh, I beg to differ- when this woman in particular took this out of her old Twitter bio when she started dating him:
Something, something, "the one who follows the fool is more foolish than the fool himself" or however that quote goes...
And before you might go along the lines of, "but... she's a woman! She has to be a victim here!" ...it's misogynistic in itself to even think that a woman cannot be capable of evil!!
A much-informative IG post by @jewitches:
Anyhow, I look forward to the day Aesthetic/Pop Culture Tumblr stops glazing terrible women (alongside the men)!!! 😇
listen to me, this is so so important: you've gotta get used to really giving it your 60% as a default. like don't half-ass it necessarily but try not to go over 70% or so of an ass. you'll feel better and live a happier more fulfilled life, and on the rare occasions where you do need to lock the fuck in you'll be able to pull off bullshit that the sad miserable wretches giving it their 100% can never dream of, because they're busy draining themselves dry and you have energy reserves to spare.

I try to pull through any way I can but I just can't hold it in anymore for fuck's sake- this fandom has a misinformation/selective empathy problem and I'm fucking SICK of it. STOP constantly infantilizing your favourite character/actor while sending death threats to others who have actually known them personally for years. STOP shipping the actors to cope with your favourite ship being killed off or not being canon. STOP IT with the as-of-yet unproven claim that one of the creators stole the show's entire concept from his as-of-yet still silent ex-wife. STOP comparing the devastatingly shitty finale of my nonetheless honest-to-god comfort show... to the finale of that degrading, Christian right propaganda-spreading, POS gooner fest on HBO, the entire aesthetic of which WAS ACTUALLY, VERIFIABLY STOLEN FROM A WOMAN; at least Stranger Things and The First Shadow had women on their creative teams. End rant.
Sorry for the outburst. Might delete it later. Idk
(Edit: For the record, I am a Byler- DNI if you don't like that)
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH FRIENDS AND STRANGERS🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
And to my fellow conformitygate truthers, may this month bring some kind of fruits of truth, even the tiniest ones🙏🙏🙏🌈🌈🌈
Dunno who made this gif cause I just saved it on discord at some point but credits to that genius, it's my fave gif ever and the definition of June 1st literally
after watching the duffers speech i couldn't be more convinced that cg is real and more content is coming
because nobody needs to hear that speech more than this guy
i don't believe they could walk the stage and talk about all those beautiful ideas with such a genuine passion and at the same time end their main character's arc having absolute opposite beliefs
A Letter to Ross and Matt...
Dear Duffers,
Thank you for the speech. It genuinely helped me in many ways💛
This CG journey has been fun, confusing, emotional, and honestly a completely different kind of learning experience than we ever expected. It came with setbacks too, of course. But in the end, it was always about instincts.
Like you said in the speech, sometimes something just feels off. That’s how Season 5 felt to many of us. Something was missing. The dialogue, the story, the emotional connections, the contradictions, the plot holes, the strange mistakes. Everything was different from the show we fell in love with.
During these six months in CG, we met all the monsters you talked about.
We opened many chests. Some were empty. Some disappointed us. But opening them was still exciting, because sometimes we found small gold coins hidden inside too. Tiny clues, parallels, emotions, or moments that kept us going.
The Will-O’-Wisp tried to trick us many times. We tried to ignore the safe paths and trust our inner voice instead. We followed our instincts, even when people laughed at us for it.
And yes, we lost many people to the Elder Brain along the way. Most people naturally want comfort, conform, certainty, and happy endings. They prefer the safe path. But somehow, fortunately or unfortunately, we kept walking through the paths filled with spikes. Still, we believe we’ll reach something meaningful at the end of this quest.
We trust you. But at the same time, we don’t blindly believe everything you or your party say either, because we also have our own path, our own instincts, and our own understanding of the story.
And we built a wonderful party here too.
It has been fun analyzing things together, discussing theories, finding connections, sharing clues, and going on this strange adventure as a group. So thank you for all the Easter eggs, hints, hidden pushes, and weird little breadcrumbs along the way.
Of course, there’s confusion. Failure. Pressure to conform. Every day people call us delusional or crazy. But we still keep going.
Because we remember that if Joyce didn’t trust the signs, Stranger Things would never exist. If Mike didn’t trust his instincts that his “best friend” was still alive, we would never have gotten the story we love so much.
So we’ll keep waiting for that chest, whatever it turns out to be. A real Season 5, a B-side, a hidden continuation Spinoff, movies, or something else entirely.
Whatever it is, we’re ready.
Thank you for this one-of-a-kind quest.
Crazy Together 🩵💛
Note: I know you guys are lurking here
This might just be, one of the biggest pieces of (soft?) Conformitygate evidence I've seen. Look how candid and eloquent Gaten is here talking about queer representation!! There is no doubt he would be pissed if the finale we got was the real one 😤
I'll go the extra mile and say it also debunks those fuckass accusations of homophobia against him- and other cast members- that went rampant after Finn's appearance on SNL (god... as a Byler I'm still ashamed that even happened 🤦)
Also if anyone happens to know which interview this comes from PLS LET ME KNOW I WANT TO SEE THE FULL THING 😣🙏🙏

when you compare Finn Wolfhard’s acting in the s2 shed scene where Mike is on the verge of losing Will forever to his acting in the s5 void scene where Mike is on the verge of losing El forever, it really is night and day. This dude can act; he could’ve knocked the El scene out of the park in his sleep. It almost feels like he deliberately wasn’t trying in the El scene.
The thing I find so frustrating about the anti-Bylers who try to shut down criticism of Stranger Things' writing by saying shit like "just go watch another show with gay characters" is that it mirrors what frustrated me about the Tammy Thompson motif. It relies on the lazy assumption that all queer experiences are interchangeable. Some people seem to think the LGBTQ community is a monolith that connects with and enjoys the exact same media.
As a woman of color, I also find this argument incredibly tone deaf, because it's the same bullshit defense people of color hear whenever we push for more representation in mainstream media. "Just go watch another movie or show with POC characters. Never mind that you don’t like the genre or plot of those stories or don’t feel invested in the characters, or that even if you do find something you love, it’s more likely to get cancelled early or receive far less visibility and support than other media. You should be grateful to have any representation at all." It reinforces the idea that marginalized people should stay confined to media made specifically for them instead of expecting to be treated like they also belong in the mainstream or believing they deserve the same abundance and variety of representation as everyone else.
True progress ceases the moment we accept bare minimum corporate compliance as genuine inclusion. It's not greedy or unreasonable to want creators to meaningfully acknowledge marginalized people's existence, especially on a show like Stranger Things that marketed itself as a safe space "for freaks and outcasts". That's all Bylers were asking for: acknowledgment of the queer coding the Duffers chose to incorporate into Mike's character (the shippers didn't make them do that; we weren't on set or in the writers' room, and a lot of us didn't even start shipping Byler until they chose to write in the Cyrano trope). Most of us were even willing to settle for a last-minute plot twist, although it likely would've been narratively unsatisfying, because at least it would've been an acknowledgement that queer people come in all shapes and sizes and even a seemingly straight boy like Mike could be gay or bisexual. That would've been a really powerful message to send the audience, much more impactful than the tired trope of unrequited gay love.
Also, I loved Rovickie (for the measly 10 minutes of Netflix's gay screentime quota their relationship was permitted to exist in canon) and I agree that there's a valid argument to be made about the scarcity of lesbian representation even within queer media and fandom, but we also have to consider the historical context of this particular show. Stranger Things is set in the 1980s, an era that was uniquely dangerous and hostile for gay men. So while the inclusion of Robin and Vickie is equally meaningful and important, it was absolutely imperative that Will be given a thoughtful, well-crafted storyline, especially considering the specific trauma he experienced. Instead, his arc was largely sidelined, and the writers still did his character a profound injustice even if you take Byler completely out of the equation (but regardless of how anyone feels about the ship, Will's relationship with Mike was still integral to his narrative, given that his sexuality arc was directly tied to his feelings for him, making it objectively important to give that storyline a meaningful resolution).
I'm just so tired of the way Bylers (most of us LGBTQ ourselves) are constantly treated like ingrates for wanting characters who are meant to resonate with queer viewers and represent our community to a global audience to be written with substantial arcs and basic dignity. When bigoted assholes like Elon Musk can publicly call Will's coming out scene "forced and unnecessary" and the writing is so awful and offensive that I can't really defend it, I'm still expected to feel grateful we got a coming out scene at all?
