Was clearing out old photos and remembered I still hadnāt shared the cutting room floor snippets from Sunny Side Screw-up.
Originally, I was going to have Sunny and Sides find out Bluestreak was VERY much not supposed to be out there way earlier with a message from their program. The email, which theyād neglected to read for several days prior, warned them to be on the look out for two āRouge automated mechaā, with photos of Prowl and Swerve attached.
By then, they already decided they liked Bluestreak, so Sunny would point out that the photo they were given was of a White and Black mech, whereas theirs was clearly Grey and Black.
Therefore, they didnāt need to report shit since this was obviously not the mech they were told to bring in.
Very early drafts also had Deadlock being a bit more involved. Specifically the scene after Ratchet finds out the twins arenāt related, he offers to go kidnap them, because what Ratchet wants Deadlock gets.
Iāve lost the original screenshot but it wouldāve gone something like this:
Prowl: āYour ship works and you didnāt say anything??ā
Deadlock: āWhat. Itās a one seater.ā
Jazz: āHow exactly do you plan on keeping two pissed off humans from accidentally killing themselves while trying to escape?ā
Deadlock answers immediately, as if heād already thought of that: āCupholder.ā
He then mimed having one servo on the controls and the other one flat overtop the hypothetical twin containment location.
It wouldāve been funny, but Prowl yelling at Deadlock for not mentioning he couldāve gone and helped Bluestreak the entire time would have distracted a bit too much from the main focus of the story and wouldāve undercut a lot of the reasons for the plot to be the way it was.
So canonically, Deadlocks ship is too busted to fly, however this was too funny to not include.
