Recently discovered I can look at the bookmarks people have left on my works on ao3, and it’s been a joy reading through them all.

Most are left without a description, some are the readers leaving a basic synopsis for identification, others are descriptions of why the reader likes those stories, and then some of them are just: “I am foaming at the mouth and need to kill.”

#ayyy flashbacks AND exposition #we’re only seeing sketches but I do enjoy the architecture of Shockwaves academy #and all the varied silhouettes inside #it’s a bit sad in context but this is the most ‘monsters’ we’ve ever seen in one place #that aren’t secretly on the run (Lost Light crew)#pfft the idea of Blurr in his mean girl era having to live in a cupboard with like four other college students sounds incredible #I like Skids. I like Skids very much. He has a very ‘I am going to lay out the rules not to control you but keep you safe’ kind of prese #*presentation #also yeah I did very much clock that he’s emulating Shockwave here #looking back now with the context of how Blurr really first learned about Shockwave: Through all the good he’d done (literally saving him)#what complete and utter WHIPLASH it must have been to discover he’d been dragging around the real guy #like. this school didn’t end up just being a place to hide but the first place where Blurr was ENCOURAGED to have autonomy #back to the cute stuff: pfft yeah. Blurr has only interacted with Not-Demon Shockwave for maybe 24 hours total #and most of that was spent asleep #I always love taking a step back to look at the timelines going on because Shockwaves resurrection happened like less than a week ago #dude probably still ducks when he goes through doorways #additionally the perfect time to interrogate someone about their shady past is when they’re tied to you and draped across your lap #oh man #it’s a trick I noticed with good comics and yours in particular #is that when someone is talking about something from their past and it ISNT visually shown. it means the character is either #lying downplaying or outright wrong about what really happened #in this case I assume downplaying. with how much Blurr is emphasizing his own ‘stupid mistakes’#Buddy! You got abducted! You are the victim in this situation! You were prey for a predator intent on catching you!#I think Shockwaves various looks of horror says it all #it’s like finding out your grandma got scammed out of her life savings and now you gotta figure out how to make sure she’ll be okay #expect much worse because loan sharks technically own your grandma now too #and you know what I’d be pretty fuckin impressed too if my grandma escaped captivity from the mafia #Blurr is so focused on when he did something stupid that he’s completely missing that he also did something impossible #finally: goddamn Blurr fresh out of the fae world looks so… pointy and regal #he looks like he sneers. he looks fully and truly fae. ran out of tags. Mirage did his makeup

#oh damn #love the pixelated affect on both screens #it’s also very cool how when First Aid is on screen he’s shown as he is and looking directly at Vortex #almost calmly while Vortex is uh. distinctly less calm #and then in the second panel Vortex is represented by just the red on purple over saturated colors #still freaking out and seemingly staring past First Aid #who once again seems to be calmly focused on Vortex behind him #tf mecha universe #I am restrained by linear time but theirs is a story I want to do justice sometime #for now they’re haunting the narrative in other characters stories

In the original-leaning department I'm envisioning some kind of puffed up blouse combined with a dress. These are the inspo pics I've gathered rn. Maybe with a cravat... (That thing looks like a Phan gijinka staple and the vision slaps fr fr.)

(Might incorporate that woven "belt" thing, too, that one is nice.)

In comaprison, the more canon compliant dress is probably this. (I say probably bc I have No idea if I'll do small adjustments like instead of the bandages they'd have satin wedding-esque gloves and like... stockings? Maybe more detail in the waist area, maybe smth like a traditional slovak belt.)

Maybe somewhat combo'd with this.....

Yeah, their attention isn't gonna stay on Phan forever and the only one to really stay afterwards is Fif and like hell that thing is gonna enforce a "no fun" policy.

I’ll be updating a lil slower (and I’ll need to work shop a better title) but the next installment of Jazz’s mecha universe adventures with be another long form story.

#tf mecha universe #this is related to the Interludes segment I started #in terms of time management and update frequency the oneshots are faster and easier #the long form story is harder and takes longer #specifically because I need to spend a lot of time figuring out how to set up the dominoes #it’s higher effort but it does mean the early chapters are less exciting while I set the foundations #while with the short stories I’d just skip to the scenes with payoff #ultimately I’m deciding what I’ll be doing based on my own time and energy #but I like to have an idea of what others think

"Rude Awakening"

This one has some history... This is a redraw of my first every Outer Wilds comic!

I remember back when I created the first one... My boyfriend really enjoyed the game, so I decided to watch a full playthrough of it (Thank you Antoine Daniel)... fell in love, started deep diving into the lore, started making a few drawings... and a little bit after, I drew the first version of this comic.

3 years later, I looked at it again and... yeaaaaah it didn't age well. Hatchy and Slate had flat faces, their eyes too close togethet, their mouths were weird, they looked sooo stiff...

So yeah! I felt the need to draw it again!

This is a pretty recent comic though. I might post older ones here with time.

(So far I am enjoying putting text walls on Tumblr lmao. If you like to read the behind the scenes of the drawings, let me know!)
