Might I share some ideas? Because I have (some) ideas!
1 - Gwen's Clothes
Explanation:No explanation. Like????
Reasoning: No explanation at all. Miles doesn't even have any friends that are girls that he could go to. Because Gwen is wearing leggings/stockings - we can reasonably assume she's wearing it underneath, but that still doesn't explain - where did the clothes comes from??????
2 - Hobies Art Style
Explanation: Everyone can see Hobie's style - and Hobie knows he's the only one who can do it. Miles is just reacting thanks to ITSV.
My reasoning: Spider-Ham. We see Miles' introduction to Noir and Spider-Ham in ITSV, and these are the first time Miles has ever seen a person 'drawn' in a different style.
However, even then.. he doesn't act very surprised? None of them do. If I saw Spider-Ham - a TALKING PIG who is also a Spider-person AND ALSO 'drawn' in a visually impossible way - I'd be losing my shit.
But Miles isn't so we already know that he (or people in this universe in general) under-reacts to other visual styles.
BUT - they do point it out, they under-react, but they do react.
So the style can be seen, but to them the absurdity of other universes never surprises people past maybe light shock.
Just the same - Spider-Ham can tell he's different. Noir can tell the world around him is in color and he isn't. So Hobie too can see the differences. He probably sees other universes as blank and lacking texture - kinda the way we see cartoons, lacking texture.
Explanation: I wrote here about my playful theory of universe similarities - ie, the more alike they are, the more apparent the difference.
Gwen and Miles both live in 2023 NYC - so they blend into each other's universe. Pavitr is from 2023 MUMBATTAN - so his universe is lightly styled. Hobie is from 1973 LONDON - so his universe is HEAVILY styled, etc.
But I will also offer a more realistic explanation: Gwen can see all of this. And it's not distracting for her because it's natural and like..important to her communication
My reasoning: Real-life Synesthesia. I'm sure there are people who could explain this FAR better, but in short, Synesthesia is when one stimuli triggers another stimuli - often colors, smells, shapes, tastes, etc.
You can watch Anthony Padilla talk to some Synesthetes here.
In the video, one Synesthetes talks about her experience with the condition. She visually sees colors that can be effected by anything - including sound. She describes what it was like to be medicated and lose her Synesthesia, and how the world felt emptier, and without color. In her experience, not having Synesthesia stunted the way she was able to interpert the world because she's so use to it.
I think Gwen is the same. Gwen may be from a world where emotions are visually seen by everyone, and can be used as a form of communication is a way - the colors and shapes and artist expression they naturally expect with emotion.
So when Gwen comes to our world - just the same, she may feel stunted by the lack of stimuli. She may even have trouble communicating without it.
I like the idea that Gwen is so use to showing and playing out her feelings in her universe, even in subtle ways, that she struggles EVEN more when in other universes. Like..her feeling odd when she can't tell what Hobie is 'feeling', because his universe doesn't do that.
4. Why didn't he put down the gun?
