I want to be known by you.
Hold me while I cry
I feel a bit dead inside... Is that so wrong
If someone wants you in their life, they’ll make room for you. You shouldn’t have to fight for a spot. Never, ever insist yourself to someone who continuously overlooks your worth.

the signs as powerful woman empowerment quotes (in honor of international women's day)
Aries: "I am a Woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal Woman, that's me." - Maya Angelou
Taurus: "A woman is like a tea bag; you never know how strong [she] is until [she's] in hot water." - Eleanor Roosevelt
Gemini: "A woman with a voice is, by definition, a strong woman." - Melinda Gates
Cancer: "Women’s empowerment can’t just be something that women are pushing for. It has to be something that we’re all pushing for" - Sophia Bush
Leo: "Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness." - Oprah Winfrey
Virgo: "Women are the real architects of society." - Cher
Libra: "We have to teach our boys the rules of equality and respect, so that as they grow up gender equality becomes a natural way of life. And we have to teach our girls that they can reach as high as humanly possible." - Beyonce
Scorpio: "Of course I am not worried about intimidating men. The type of man who will be intimidated by me is exactly the type of man I have no interest in." - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Sagittarius: "I hope that girls, especially, will see the importance of having a sense of justice and a sense of what’s fair and what’s worth fighting for. They’ll see that they can be warriors and at the same time soft and feminine and deeply feeling, with all the complexities women have." - Angelina Jolie
Capricorn: "I just want women to always feel in control because we're capable...we're so capable" - Nicki Minaj
Aquarius: "It is my hope and dream that one day every girl will go to school without fear or intimidation, and they will learn and grow to lead our future generations - as doctors, politicians, teachers, sisters and mothers. On this day we stand together and continue to grow stronger. And we will stand together tomorrow, and every day after as well." - Malala Yousafzai
Pisces: "The one thing I do believe as a feminist is that in order for us to have gender equality we have to stop making it a girl fight and we have to stop being so interested in seeing girls trying to tear each other down – it has to be more about cheering each other on as women." - Taylor Swift
Today’s Classic: Great Quotes from the great Oscar Wilde (1854-1900)
oscar wilde was literally the coolest guy who ever lived
master of sass
HE WAS BISEXUAL. We get to claim the sass master.
NO YOU REALLY JUST Oscar Wilde lived in the VICTORIAN ERA He was a really controversial guy. He hated his society. He also went to jail and destroyed his career because he was in a gay relationship with a Lord. He was a badass. To be honest
His last words were “either the wall paper goes or I do”
Oscar Wilde IS Lestat
#TRUTH
Friendly reminder that Oscar Wilde changed his name to Sebastian Melmoth when he went into exile and that is one of Lestat’s aliases (extract from the Tale of the Body Thief, page 81)
Oh god
YOU KIDDING! O_O Lestat you clever bastard! :D
::whispers:: it got better
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

frida was such an icon
FRIDA KAHLO: the definition of a bad motherfucking bitch.
If you’ve never read her journal, do. Her life, by all accounts, was fucking horrible. She was married to fellow artist Diego Rivero, who, as mentioned above, cheated on her so frequently (usually with the models for his paintings) that it’s unbelievable; she survived a near-fatal bus accident in her youth, which not only caused a large piece of jagged metal to pierce her vagina and uterus (which in turn lead to multiple miscarriages later in her life,) but also caused debilitating spinal issues which forced her to constantly wear a restrictive metal back brace; growing complications from the same accident eventually spiraled into gangrene in her foot, which was removed later in her life.
In spite of all of this — or, because of all of this — she continued to create highly-individual, gender-questioning works of art and receive recognition on an international level. She deserves to be remembered for more than one self-portrait and her signature unshaven brow; the courage and, truly, the power with which she confronted the odds against her is beyond heroic.
its like literally my goal in life to do this to the next guy that cheats on me

Why are these people attacking the father of modern medicine
#32cdcd
I get and appreciate what this was going for, but “no one would have to tell a woman that she had given birth” is pretty silly.
"That hurt so baaaaaad! What the fuck just happened?! And why do I hear crying?"
"It was nothing. Someone just brought a baby into the room. Don’t worry about it."
You hear about that 14 yo kid that was raped by a grown woman and then after the statute of limitations ran out she came back, told him the kid was his, and demanded eight years back child support and got it?
Yeah. I’m not making that up. That’s not even a hypothetical. That fucking happened.
Awesome jokes though. Next time I hear about some 14 yo boy that got raped, denied a relationship with his child and then forced to pay thousands of dollars to his rapist I’ll look back and have a laugh.
However, since you clearly don’t really think any of that matters try this.
Imagine a woman giving birth and the father comes in and tells her the child was stillborn.
And the medical staff all plays along.
He leaves her, takes the kid, and then once the kid is grown up comes back and demands tens of thousands of dollars in back child support.
Does that sound completely and totally criminally fucking evil to you?
It does to me. And society agrees. Unless the victim is male.
Y’all reach so Damn hard none of this prevelant and the first four statistics are vague and misleading
Vague, huh? Reaching, huh?
Here we go…
Suicide:
In the United States, the male-to-female suicide death ratio varies between 3:1 to 10:1.[19] Typically males die from suicide three to four times more often as females, and, in some cases, five or more times as often.
Education:
For the current graduating class of 2013, the Department of Education estimates that women will earn 61.6% of all associate’s degrees this year, 56.7% of all bachelor’s degrees, 59.9% of all master’s degrees, and 51.6% of all doctor’s degrees. Overall, 140 women will graduate with a college degree at some level this year for every 100 men.
For bachelor’s degrees, women have earned the majority of those degrees for every college class since 1982, and the female share of degrees has risen every year. But what about the cumulative gender gap for bachelor’s degrees (and all college degrees) over the last 30 years? The chart above shows that since 1982, women have earned 4.35 million more bachelor’s degrees than men (22.43 million degrees for women vs. 18.08 million degrees for men). For all college degrees, women have earned 9.7 million more degrees than men (44.1 million vs. 34.4 million) since 1982.
Domestic Violence:
At the conference, Dr. Hines detailed her findings on what happens when abused men call domestic violence hotlines or shelters seeking help. About a third of all domestic violence injuries are suffered by men. Hines’ study included 302 heterosexual men, ages 18 to 59, who had been in a relationship lasting at least one month within the previous year, had been physically assaulted by their female partners within the previous year, and had sought outside assistance/support. The median age of the abused men was 40, and the median age of their abusive female partners was 38. The relationships had lasted on average a little over eight years, and 73% of them had minor children. About two-thirds were married, separated, or divorced. Of the abused men who called domestic violence hotlines, 64% were told that they “only helped women.” In 32% of the cases, the abused men were referred to batterers’ programs. Another 25% were given a phone number to call that turned out to be a batterers’ program. A little over a quarter of them were given a reference to a local program that helped. Overall, only 8% of the men who called hotlines classified them as “very helpful,” whereas 69% found them to be “not at all helpful.” Sixteen percent said the people at the hot line “dismissed or made fun of them."

SAIL
I PRESSED PLAY JUST AS I WAS TAKING A DRINK AND DIET COKE JUST SHOT OUT MY NOSE. I FEEL LIKE I JUST VOMITED
there are so many layers of humor to appreciate here
the disruption of pleasant relaxing music
the word “sail” being yelled slightly off-beat as if the person filming was planning this and got a little eager
the small child’s laughter in the background
the pianist whispering “shit” to himself as if he only dropped an m&m or something
the foot appearing seemingly out of nowhere
the dedicated pianist falling down with his piano
it’s all so beautiful
I’m so glad this is back
this will never get old
If I die this is what killed me
