i'm confused what the meant by "according to youtube we've only posted 1 video in the last year", when they've actually posted 50+. does that mean every video except one got demonetized??

not completely demonetised but restricted, meaning you can't see them in restricted mode and the ad revenue is worse than on Fully Ad And Family Friendly content. restricted mode is also enabled by default on some accounts for some reason, it's required on a lot of public wifis, and i'm sure there's some other shit i'm forgetting

basically youtube is really unfriendly to its creators these days, and it's only getting worse 🤡

i've never been a separate beds truther because i know those men would wear each other's skin if they could, but in light of this confirmation can i just say that they are so strong bc dan and phil both seem like they would be a nightmare to sleep next to for several different reasons

I feel a little bit like a close friend moved away after college - excited for them, and fully supportive of whatever they do and all the new friends they’ll make, but also a little bit. Just. Tender? Nostalgic? Melancholy? Like dang. What a remarkable, special time the last couple years were, and in a way we’ll never get again.

I’m so grateful they did TIT, y’know? Like. That was their love letter to us, done with the knowledge that things wouldn’t stay the same.

as always i think people may be unaware that having a patreon for a podcast with a few exclusive benefits in order for the main product to be free, is an extremely common norm, not because creators are cheapskate swine but because this kind of production is more expensive than you may think it is. and especially with them revealing that literally ONE video is not restricted on their youtube channel like. yeah a patreon makes the most sense, and considering there will still be a lot that is just free INCLUDING access to watching the livestreams! which a lot of patreons dont give to free members! like cmon yall you don't have to love it nor even support it but that just kinda is what it is and the benefits look pretty fair all things considered

gonna give my thoughts about the patreon and you all can boo and hiss and throw tomatoes or whatever but like… a lot of the content we love from them either gets demonetized or is right on the edge of it and … this is their job. and the membership options aren’t really anything crazy?? like I feel you won’t be missing out on a lot if you can’t afford or don’t want to sign up. I get being disappointed but like … YouTube’s monetization system sucks SO BAD. especially if you’re not willing to censor basically everything you do. but I maybe I’m just wrong. I’m coming at this from someone who has done the YouTube thing and had to constantly edit my videos in the most annoying ways to get around that shit. and it wasn’t my full time job but it still sucked so bad.
