[ As a breeze blows by, a figure slowly appears in the sand. At first, just a pile of dust, but slowly forming into a familiar face. Krash sits up, brushing sand from their blood-stained face. They roll their shoulders and seemingly stretch before looking over at Atomic, a few yards away. ]

Heya, kiddo! Miss me?

(It looks over, a slightly guilty look on its face)

Missed you a lot, really. … Things've been rough..

[ Krash nods, standing. And for once, Atomic sees how bad they look. The first time they appeared to Atomic, it was dark, and they tried to keep Atomic from looking. But now it was clear. Blood stained just about everywhere. Hands, face, clothing. It was even in their hair. But they were still them. It was still their eyes, their face. They walked over to Atomic, grabbing it's shoulders and looking them over. Krash's touch was cold, but comforting. ]

When's the last time you ate?

(It's lip quivers slightly, making them feel like a sad little kid that's getting scolded. It sniffles, looking much scrawnier than they've ever been, dark circles forming under its eyes)

I don't remember... I- I've been real busy..

[ Krash frowns, pulling Atomic into a hug. ]

'Tomic, you gotta take card of yourself. This isn't good for ya.

(It clings to Krash, starting to sob. They shake, visibly malnourished and sleep deprived)

[ Krash rubs Atomic's back, slowly lowering them both to a sitting position in the sand. ]

(It continues to sob, their body barely holding them up. It doesn't take long before it's too dehydrated to cry anymore)

I-... I don't wanna get dusted… I just.. I don't wanna lose my other friends too..

[ Krash runs a hand through xer hair, wishing they had water for it. ]

You gotta take care of yourself, too. You won't be able to help them if you don't.

(It takes shallow breaths, its binder starting to bruise its ribs, breathing becoming almost excruciatingly painful. Xey almost wonder if xey fractured something)

(They close their eyes, resting limply against Krash. It feels as though the Witch is looming over it, waiting for xem to crumple)

[ Krash hums softly, holding xem close. Their blood, despite looking fresh, doesn't rub off on Atomic at all. They offer as much comfort as they can. ]

(Their voice is quiet and weak, and they whimper at the thought of leaving everything behind, even temporarily)

(Its head is pounding from lack of sustenance, its body running on nothing but will. It's like a rusted machine, continuing its job despite slowing down, unwilling to stop until something breaks)

[ Krash looks up, a killjoy walking aimlessly their direction. ]

(They barely have the energy to look up, eyes unfocused. Xey look close to unconsciousness)

[ And with that, Krash dissolves back into the wind. ]

(It collapses face first, groaning quietly as it sits up and looks at the stranger with fear in xer eyes)

[ Sharkbone wanders aimlessly, almost as if in a daze. Their bat is slung lazily over his shoulder, fresh blood covering the side. They catch sight of Atomic and grin, looking down at xem. They stop about 10 feet away, staring. Smiling. ]

(It whimpers, cowering away)

You don't look safe...

(They try to stand, legs shaking under them before it falls back down onto its knees, the metal joint creaking)

S.. stay back!

[ Sharkbone tilts his head to the side, looking Atomic over. Analyzing xem. Deciding on their next move. Most of the time, he just attacks, head on. But something about Atomic felt different. It had been so long since his bat had met human flesh.

He wondered if it would feel the same as last time.

Sharkbone took slow steps forward, letting the bat fall to his side. He crouched in front of Atomic, practically on top of xem. They drop the bat. ]

(Xey relax once the bat is out of his hand, though the closeness is unnerving. It stares, only one eye still good enough to see Sharkbone clearly)

........ 's... safe?

[ Sharkbone smiles a little wider, staying quiet. Just... staring. The stare is empty, cold, bone-chilling at least. Then they start laughing. Quiet at first, almost a figment of Atomic's imagination. Then louder. And with.. no warning? Little warning? Much to Atomic's surprise, they jump, wrapping his hsnfd around it's throat and squeezing. ]

(They start to get terrified, his eyes feeling like they're burning through it. The laughter only makes them more nervous, and at the sudden strangling it starts to kick and writhe, getting air in feeling near impossible. It chokes, making a breathless sound)

(It almost feels... betrayed. Why would Krash offer this person, only for him to start hurting xem? Maybe they didn't know. That's the only answer it accepts)

[ Sharkbone only squeezes harder, somewhere between laughing and screaming. It's certainly going to leave a nasty mark. Then, they stop. Suddenly. His hands remain around Atomic's throat as he looks up, but he stops applying pressure. A bike can be heard in the distance, and Sharkbone seems to weigh his options. He ends up grabbing his bat and running, leaving Atomic even more broken than before. He can't help but get a swing in before he runs, slamming the bat into Atomic's side. And then he's off. The bike skids to a stop, and a familiar pink blob enters Atomic's vision. Haven Havoc. ]

(It gasps and coughs, whimpering at the hit to the side. It lies limp, coughing weakly. It stays wary of the second stranger, crying out as xey try and drag themself away, terrified)

[ Haven tries to get as clear in Atomic's vision as possible. ]

I'm not gonna hurt you, kid. Promise. I just wanna help.

(It chokes out a loud sob, curling up on xer side with its knees as close to its chest as possible, arms protecting their head. It's throat hurts too much to talk, let alone scream for her to not hurt them)

[ Haven crouches next to Atomic, careful to not make many sudden movements. ]

Can I look at your throat? It looked like that asshole had you pretty good. I want to make sure you're ok.

(Xey stare, struggling to breathe. After a bit of debate it uncurls, moving enough that Haven can see the marks. They whine, putting a hand on xer chest)

[ Haven takes the movement to her advantage, trying to see what else is wrong. ]

Can I look under your shirt? I may need to take off your binder. I want to make sure he didn't break any ribs.

(Xey hesitate, but nod—chest hurting too much to possibly push through any longer. It's eyes almost roll back, and they're hanging onto consciousness by a thread)

[ Haven moves slow, and ends up cutting through the binder to get it off, promising to get Atomic a new one. She winces at the sight, almost certain of a few broken ribs. The pull out their radio while grabbing supplies from her bag. ]

Haven to Silver, copy? I need your help. Atomic is hurt. At least two broken ribs, and a decent bit of damage to xer windpipe. I think they're dehydrated n shit too. I can patch them up, but you have the most supplies.

(Silver had been working on a little project, all tuned into his own world. The sound of his radio buzzing brought him back to reality, though. Once when picked up the radio and heard the situation, he fully focused on the problem at hand, quickly getting up to fetch some supplies.)

- Copy, I'll get my stuff. Let me know when you're closeby. Door's unlocked, as usual. Over. -

(As he speaks, it sounds like he's rummaging through something... Because he is. He yanks his first aid kit and some extra rolls of gauze from a box behind the counter. Once the radio's off, he takes everything to the couch and starts to set it up so Atomic has somewhere comfortable. He also grabs a bottle of water or two.)

[ Haven sighs softly, turning back to Atomic. ]

Alright. I got a uh, friend, and he's setting up a spot so we can get you fixed up, ok? But I need to get you there first. Can I pick you up?

[ Haven, 5'2"-ish, isn't kidding. She can pick Atomic up EASY, especially in this state. ]

(It tries to speak, but it only manages a tiny squeak. Xey nod, letting xer eyes fall shut)

[ Haven takes a deep breath, then lifts Atomic off of the ground as carefully as possible. She carries xem over to her bike and sets Atomic in front of herself, covering xem with her jacket before zooming off to Silver's. ]

(The jacket helps, making it feel a little less cold. Much to their surprise—considering this has never happened before—its prosthesis falls off, no longer the right size to stay on. Xey hold it in xer lap, making sure they don't lose it before getting to Haven's "friend's" place)

[ Haven pulls up to Silver's and picks Atomic up again, carrying xem inside. She sets it on the couch, trying to make sure they're semi-comfortable, and motion for Silver to come help her fix xem up. ]

(Silver shuts the door behind her and immediately rushes over, kneeling beside Atomic. He assesses the damage, then huffs.)

Haven, I'll do as much as I can. Just let me work.

(He takes a moment to think, then digs around in his medkit for a second before taking out a plastic tube that's about an inch wide and 9 inches long.)

Okay, Atomic, right? This is gonna hurt like hell, but I need t' open up your throat. Brace yourself.

(He opens Atomic's mouth and braces himself, too. It's been a long time since he's had to do this. After a moment or two, he carefully and swiftly puts the tube down Atomic's throat, opening up xer windpipe. Part of it is sticking out of their mouth, and Silver secures it to the side of its mouth with a little medical tape.)

(It starts to thrash as soon as Silver starts to insert the tube. It does help it breathe enough to stay conscious, but it hurts. Tears roll down its cheeks as xey try and drag themself away from Silver, just wanting everything to stop hurting so much. They look frail, dehydrated and malnourished)

I know, I'm sorry, I know..

(He mutters, trying to find something, anything to help with the pain. He knows the tube is a temporary solution to a much bigger problem, but oxygen was the first focus. Now, his focus is reducing the pain.

He manages to find a syringe he'd normally use for testosterone, some rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball, and a bottle of liquid painkillers of some sort. He holds Atomic's arm down flat and disinfects their inner elbow with the cotton ball and rubbing alcohol, taking the top off the medicine bottle with his teeth and spitting out the cap before drawing up a good dose and trying to find a vein. It takes him a second, but he manages to stick xem in just the right spot to administer the drug. He silently hopes he didn't just kill it as he eventually takes the needle out and puts it aside, putting a band-aid over the pinprick.)

That should help, just give it a minute.

(He puts the cotton ball onto the top of the needle to make it safe for the moment, then clears up the area a bit, quietly watching to see if the painkiller actually does anything.)

(It blinks, followed by a sniffle. Its whole body trembles, but it looks slightly less pained. Xey tuck xer knee against their chest, tears still falling)

(He notices the slight change in demeanor, taking out one of those hit-and-use ice packs.)

Alright, I'm gonna ice your ribs, then I'll get you some water. Can you point to which ones are broken?

(He notices the already-cut clothes, presuming that Haven had done it to better see the damage. Whatever the case, it helps him see, too, so he's not mad.)

(It moves it leg and points to three different spots, two of the ribs having been injured by its.. undersized binder. The other is from the bat.)

(He decides to just use the one ice pack and move it around since... Well, there isn't exactly a lot of medical resources in the desert, especially not ice. He wraps the ice pack in a small towel and places it over the ribs that were injured from the binder, considering they're the closest together.)

Alright, just hold that there.

He manages to find a syringe he'd normally use for testosterone, some rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball, and a bottle of liquid painkillers of some sort. He holds Atomic's arm down flat and disinfects their inner elbow with the cotton ball and rubbing alcohol, taking the top off the medicine bottle with his teeth and spitting out the cap before drawing up a good dose and trying to find a vein. It takes him a second, but he manages to stick xem in just the right spot to administer the drug. He silently hopes he didn't just kill it as he eventually takes the needle out and puts it aside, putting a band-aid over the pinprick.)

(He puts the cotton ball onto the top of the needle to make it safe for the moment, then clears up the area a bit, quietly watching to see if the painkiller actually does anything.)

[ Sharkbone wanders aimlessly, almost as if in a daze. Their bat is slung lazily over his shoulder, fresh blood covering the side. They catch sight of Atomic and grin, looking down at xem. They stop about 10 feet away, staring. Smiling. ]

(It whimpers, cowering away)

You don't look safe...

(They try to stand, legs shaking under them before it falls back down onto its knees, the metal joint creaking)

S.. stay back!

[ Sharkbone tilts his head to the side, looking Atomic over. Analyzing xem. Deciding on their next move. Most of the time, he just attacks, head on. But something about Atomic felt different. It had been so long since his bat had met human flesh.

He wondered if it would feel the same as last time.

Sharkbone took slow steps forward, letting the bat fall to his side. He crouched in front of Atomic, practically on top of xem. They drop the bat. ]

(Xey relax once the bat is out of his hand, though the closeness is unnerving. It stares, only one eye still good enough to see Sharkbone clearly)

[ Sharkbone smiles a little wider, staying quiet. Just... staring. The stare is empty, cold, bone-chilling at least. Then they start laughing. Quiet at first, almost a figment of Atomic's imagination. Then louder. And with.. no warning? Little warning? Much to Atomic's surprise, they jump, wrapping his hsnfd around it's throat and squeezing. ]

(They start to get terrified, his eyes feeling like they're burning through it. The laughter only makes them more nervous, and at the sudden strangling it starts to kick and writhe, getting air in feeling near impossible. It chokes, making a breathless sound)

(It almost feels... betrayed. Why would Krash offer this person, only for him to start hurting xem? Maybe they didn't know. That's the only answer it accepts)

[ Sharkbone only squeezes harder, somewhere between laughing and screaming. It's certainly going to leave a nasty mark. Then, they stop. Suddenly. His hands remain around Atomic's throat as he looks up, but he stops applying pressure. A bike can be heard in the distance, and Sharkbone seems to weigh his options. He ends up grabbing his bat and running, leaving Atomic even more broken than before. He can't help but get a swing in before he runs, slamming the bat into Atomic's side. And then he's off. The bike skids to a stop, and a familiar pink blob enters Atomic's vision. Haven Havoc. ]

(It gasps and coughs, whimpering at the hit to the side. It lies limp, coughing weakly. It stays wary of the second stranger, crying out as xey try and drag themself away, terrified)

[ Haven tries to get as clear in Atomic's vision as possible. ]

I'm not gonna hurt you, kid. Promise. I just wanna help.

(It chokes out a loud sob, curling up on xer side with its knees as close to its chest as possible, arms protecting their head. It's throat hurts too much to talk, let alone scream for her to not hurt them)

[ Haven crouches next to Atomic, careful to not make many sudden movements. ]

Can I look at your throat? It looked like that asshole had you pretty good. I want to make sure you're ok.

(Xey stare, struggling to breathe. After a bit of debate it uncurls, moving enough that Haven can see the marks. They whine, putting a hand on xer chest)

[ Haven moves slow, and ends up cutting through the binder to get it off, promising to get Atomic a new one. She winces at the sight, almost certain of a few broken ribs. The pull out their radio while grabbing supplies from her bag. ]

Haven to Silver, copy? I need your help. Atomic is hurt. At least two broken ribs, and a decent bit of damage to xer windpipe. I think they're dehydrated n shit too. I can patch them up, but you have the most supplies.

(Silver had been working on a little project, all tuned into his own world. The sound of his radio buzzing brought him back to reality, though. Once when picked up the radio and heard the situation, he fully focused on the problem at hand, quickly getting up to fetch some supplies.)

- Copy, I'll get my stuff. Let me know when you're closeby. Door's unlocked, as usual. Over. -

(As he speaks, it sounds like he's rummaging through something... Because he is. He yanks his first aid kit and some extra rolls of gauze from a box behind the counter. Once the radio's off, he takes everything to the couch and starts to set it up so Atomic has somewhere comfortable. He also grabs a bottle of water or two.)

The shop was quiet today, nothing but the wind outside and the rattling of his generator to keep him company. As he sees the top of Haven's head over the counter, he perks up, a smile spreading over his face as he staggers upright and scrambles around the counter to meet her.)

(He sounds overjoyed. His expression softens as he leans down to her, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear with a big grin.)

(Silver had been kicked back in his chair, feet up on the counter, fiddling with his piercings in a mirror as Hubcap lounged beside him. The shop was quiet today, nothing but the wind outside and the rattling of his generator to keep him company. As he sees the top of Haven's head over the counter, he perks up, a smile spreading over his face as he staggers upright and scrambles around the counter to meet her.)

(He sounds overjoyed. His expression softens as he leans down to her, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear with a big grin.)

Most notably, he has a big gnarled gash over the middle of his forearm. He's also got dual lip and eyebrow rings.

His eyes trace down the length of the lightning scar, but he neglects to ask about it. They've talked enough about getting hurt.)
