I watched Hunter x Hunter Stage 2 four times 😅🥲, yes, I know, I might need help 😅. Let me tell you, there was a lot of fan service for the Chrollo x Kurapika ship and Melody 😊. There was just a tiny moment at the end for Leopika, almost letting the ship sink, but they gave us something to keep it afloat, mostly because of the actor who played Leorio. He did a fantastic job portraying Leorio's puppy love eyes towards Kurapika, always seeking eye contact, but Kurapika remained focused on his goals, oblivious to Leorio's affection.
Putting my shipping heart aside, let me provide a neutral analysis: the play featured numerous parallel scenes between Kurapika and Chrollo. For example, the scene in the car was intense, with the actors being so close that it felt like they were about to kiss at any moment 😳. These subtle scenes, including those in front of Leorio, felt like being in a fanfic 😄. Poor Leorio had to endure Kurapika's rage attacks against Chrollo, desperately trying to intervene, while Chrollo and Kurapika delivered some excellent scenes for all the Chrollo x Kurapika shippers.
For Melody x Kurapika shippers, there were also some adorable and heartwarming moments.
Now, for Leopika, as a hardcore fan, I must admit that this ship almost sank 😔. The actors barely interacted, with Leorio's actor taking on most of the scenes, constantly seeking Kurapika's attention but receiving little acknowledgment. However, there was a glimmer of hope at the end when Leorio asked Melody to take care of Kurapika when he fell ill. Upon Kurapika's recovery, Leorio's joyful reaction and their brief moment together, with Leorio putting his arm around Kurapika's shoulders, provided some solace for Leopika shippers.
Overall, while Chrollo x Kurapika received much attention with their fiery scenes, Leopika moments were scarce. Nevertheless, the actors portrayed their characters convincingly, staying true to their personalities. Despite the lack of interaction, the subtle glances and smiles between Kurapika and Leorio were endearing and made those moments worthwhile.
