The next episode of the podcast will be all about what YOU can do right now to stay sane, feel okay, help others, and know you are making an impact.
But this post I created last year about the things that you can do to spread the gospel of slow fashion is also a part of that conversation.
ALL of us an important part of the slow fashion community, no matter how old we are, the size of our bodies, our gender, where we live, how much money we have, or what our personal aesthetic is. And while we have our work cut out for us, we CAN (and will) make a major impact by working together. We all matter here in the slow fashion movement, even if we feel like we don't matter or fit in somewhere else.
And the things you do every day that might seem minor are actually a really IMPORTANT way of driving huge positive changes. These things are both radical and revolutionary in a world of consumerism and individualism.
Yes, you can start a whole podcast about it or throw a clothing swap or start your own local mending group (these are all great)âŚbut you can also just be more careful when you do your laundry. Buy less new stuff. Be a proud outfit repeater. Repair your stuff.
Yes, individual action DOES matter, despite what you will might be told elsewhere. Can one person change the world on their own? Probably not. But when working alongside thousands and millions of other people, change is inevitable.
I'm so excited about all of the things we can accomplish TOGETHER! Progress is slow, but I can look back and see the results in the world. Let's keep talking, listening, learning, thinking, and inviting others to join us.
âHowâs life?â
Me:
I havenât been able to get the full video but we just celebrated one of our steam locomotives turning 145 by chucking a chocolate cake into her firebox
So I know this post is from 2018, and Iâve gone on and on about it haunting me (it does still, and I donât even work there anymore), but I think all these years later and so close to her own birthday, she deserves to be seen for the gorgeous locomotive she is.
Sheâs beautiful, we adore her, and sheâs going to be 149 this year! Happy birthday, lady!
sheâs now 150!!
WE MUST SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THIS BEAUTIFUL TRAIN
i wanted to post the full picture but i only have the edit i made where the mom is smoking
did you cum?
Not even once.
As someone who lost their father to cancer I feel this is very important to share. Please vote in 2024, and vote for those who care more about the people rather than bullshit politics.
(I donât typically talk politics or world affairs but this hit me hard.)
The article:
The Moonshot program was the largest, organized effort by the U.S. government to find cancer cures. Congress voted it down.

Me: Oh my god it's a FORK lift.

Tumblr is the most eco-friendly social media site because we will see an old post and be like is anyone else gonna recontextualize this and not wait for an answer
Did you have a newly reelected Trump administration ending your local weather forecasts on your Project 2025 bingo card? Well, they are plan
NOAA âshould be dismantled and many of its functions eliminated, sent to other agencies, privatized, or placed under the control of states and territories,â Project 2025 reads. The proposals roughly amount to two main avenues of attack. First, it suggests that the NWS should eliminate its public-facing forecasts, focus on data gathering, and otherwise âfully commercialize its forecasting operations,â which the authors of the plan imply will improve, not limit, forecasts for all Americans. Then, NOAAâs scientific-research arm, which studies things such as Arctic-ice dynamics and how greenhouse gases behave (and which the document calls âthe source of much of NOAAâs climate alarmismâ), should be aggressively shrunk. âThe preponderance of its climate-change research should be disbanded,â the document says. It further notes that scientific agencies such as NOAA are âvulnerable to obstructionism of an Administrationâs aims,â so appointees should be screened to ensure that their views are âwholly in syncâ with the presidentâs.
Climate change is the single most important issue in the entirety of human history. One party wants to fight it. The other party wants to let the earth burn; in fact, they want to accelerate the fire.
