Finds comfort in the leather patch on his hood??
Reaches for it when feeling scared.
Rubs the patch before ripping it off his hood. “I’m not dying down here”
Quick to anger but regulates fast
“Would you give anything to survive?” “Yeah. But I never had anything to begin with” and then holds the sprout.
Ellie telling him he will live and WE will survive
“We are all. We are one. In the blood.”
The “patch” was his mother’s.
She gave him a knife pouch, and it’s studded like his patch.
“Would she despise the killer she raised? Or would she be proud?”
He wraps it around the black box and that’s why he tells his mom to keep it safe.
“Your ship is alive”
“Pray that you stay dead”
